One perfect day on Catalina Island: Avalon via Catalina Express, Restaurants, food, and things to do

As part time residents of Coronado Island off the coast of San Diego, we sometimes have friends confuse our home with Catalina island, which is off the coast of LA county. But we’ve never actually been to Catalina and we know almost nothing about this other vacation hotspot, aside from its reputation for legendary wine mixers. So this morning we’re taking a ferry from Long Beach to experience the food, culture, and activities first-hand. Let’s start devouring.
