  1. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!! The correct email for the Mount Mortske date is sunnyhillauto@gmail.com and not sunnyhillfarms@gmail.com You'd think I'd at least know the correct email address! Guess I'll go have another sammich and watch it snow some more… Now hopefully nobody makes a silly comment so I have to pin them instead of this semi-important information.

  2. Sounds just like when my Dodge Dart threw a rod while I was racing . LOL I ended up taking that piston and what was left of the rod out and pulling out the push rods to that cylinder keeping the valves closed Left the spark plug in with no plug wire to it . The car fired back up and I drove it ( running rough ) for another year . I sold the dart and bought a 57 Chevy to build . Parts cost was zero because I just took them out and didn't replace them . LOL Sounded like a bi plane but drove it to work every day . LOL

  3. Ok maybe a stupid question, but on the junkyard SBC the pushrods weren't moving because the lifters were not pumped up because of the water in the oil. You put oil in, and they pumped up fine. This SBC showed a high possibility of water in the oil off what was on the dipstick (JIMMY!), so how can you tell the difference between and lifter that needs pumped up, and a flattened lobe? Anyway, love the videos, keep up the good work!

  4. Chevy put out a bunch of engines with poor case hardening on the cams. I don't remember the years, but if the oil wasn't changed regularly, they would round off a lobe. Can't believer that starter lasted as long as it did. I think I would have verified the timing marks and then checked it with a timing light. A snort of ether will sometimes work when the compression is low too.
