One of the rescued that sticks in my mind as the most heartbreaking for me personally this year was Couscous and Jeremy. Originally we weren’t going to take these two in. We agreed to help with two female sheep who were most likely pregnant. The night before they were suppose to be seized someone showed up and slaughtered all the farmed animals except for these two boys. Maybe because they wanted to make money, maybe because they wanted to avoid more animal cruelty charges, maybe both. It was devastating. At that point I didn’t know even if the boys would make it out either. Luckily they were spared. I have no idea why. But we immediately agreed to take them and I was panicked until I heard and received photo confirmation that they had been taken off the property. Couscous had to have ten pounds of wool sheared off of him that was matted more than any wool I’ve ever seen. I can’t begin to think how uncomfortable it was for him. These boys are absolutely inseparable. They’ve been through so much together. They needed each other to survive. I’m glad they are here. They don’t really like humans and I don’t blame them but maybe one day they’ll come around. These are just two more of the lives saved this year. Now they’ll get to know love, peace and safety for as long as they live. This is what donations throughout the year do here. Save literal lives like theirs.

The angony that Couscous and Jeremy went through is literally heartbreaking… actually all of those precious sheep and llamas were terrified… my heart is broken for them… Jeremy and Couscous should never be separated, they need each other… so that together start to thrive in nuturing, safe and unconditional love to heal their precious Mind, Body and Soul… "Never Give Up" 🦋💞🦋
