Author Aldous Huxley first described the ‘Law of Reverse Effect,’ saying that “The harder we try with the conscious will to do something, the less we shall succeed.” So, could it really be that when we stop consciously trying to succeed, we increase our chances of success? Will results come once we stop caring? This video explores the law of reverse effect, also known as the law of reversed effort.
The amount of suffering in the world is vast, so observed Schopenhauer. Life is a constant striving, a relentless pursuit of desires and needs that keep appearing. So it’s no surprise that people label this philosopher ‘pessimistic’ and ‘dark.’ But his observations aren’t unfounded.

Brilliant! One of your best! 🙏👍
Do the work with pleasure but detach from the outcome.
This kind of stuff makes me want to be religious ngl
In other words, "phal ki chinta na kar, karm kiye jaa " (Don't focus on the result, focus on the work).
This is exactly what I'm in need of 😢
This advice on not caring about outcomes , runs completely counter to the philosophy espoused by law of attraction thinking where the emphasis is on having a detailed visualization of ones expectations , so what is the correct way to go about life then?
We in India say it "Karm karo, fal ki chinta mat karo" which translates to "do your work/job and dont worry for the result".
If you happen to read this, just know that you are limitless. Believe in yourself my friend, and unleash your full potential. Keep pushing forward! Love from ButterflyAwakening🦋🦋
Love the content
Unless you're the UK tory party… xD
I literally live by the principle of Wuwei and it has allowed me to accomplish many awesome things.
10/10, all I can say
100% me
Very good post. It would’ve been helpful to see the Wu Wei kanji characters on screen. In Japanese/traditional Chinese it is 無為.
This is not knew I have known for decades and human kind has known for centuries if you DONT sweat it it will come duh
0:29 we now know that Einzelgänger is a weeabo.
Everything is out of control and thats ok.
And so nearing 60 I am embracing this philosophy. How much of my yrue inner self have I sacrifice by caring. By the exhausted practice of caring I alienated myself fro my true self. My emotional regulation was dependent on caring . While not listening to myself. By sacrificing my authentic self in the interest of what I called love. Self love was not cultivated. Here I am. A true journey of replacing with caring with growth and self love.
Here at 1am when I will be at work at 7am. I shall report of the outcomes but I am laughing out loud just realizing how much I have done myself in 😂
"Spread your health and ease, not your disease." — Henry David Thoreau
I had a grandmother (a true crone) once, who intuitively well knew how to be concerned without worrying.
On a related note, we can often recall things without pressing hard to remember them.
❤❤❤❤❤
This philosophy doesn't always ring true. In a war, not caring means letting your guard down which will prove fatal more often than not. In college, I cared about what grades I got. If I hadn't cared, I might not have graduated. So this person's philosophy about not caring has exceptions.
sounds like the key to productivity is depression
I've been struggling with this recently. Thank you. Well articulated.
My question is how do you let go or not care too much about the results? Nobody ever teaches the how to, they just talk about it.
thank you!
I had a high school speech as class president to give more than 10 years ago. I never prepared a full speech the night before I thought about what i would say and wrote some notes down. (Very little notes 😂)
Speech day, all the other class presidents had full pages of speech organized and they read their speech sounding very monotonous, my turn i go up wing it with a few notes just talking to the crowd ( the entire school and their parents) i was the only one to make the crowd laugh and then also cry some sad tears. I was worried about preparing a speech then i thought im just going on stage and talking and everything came natural.
I like that Luffy from One Piece on the bookshelf 🔥
Such good content. This channel came in my feed and I am happy that I found it. I read Stoicism and daily do my meditations, and I can say, this channel is wonderful and neat. Thank you. Cheers from São Paulo.
You know, this video could actually implant an idea of caring too much in a person who didn't have it before. An irony.
So God is right! Fear, worry, not being good enough! Amen Amen let it go and let God❤❤❤
Keep caring but stop forcing. Moderation is key.
Great piece, amazing philosophy learning
If you're reading this comment, salute to you bro 💯 i hope you win in life!
You need to at least put yourself out into the world to get results. Otherwise not much will happen to you, good or bad.
Mira pajaro eso es gente que hace las cosas bien y gente como usted envidioso no soportan la calidad y lo bueno con honradez el plagio es tan malo como un secuestro secuestrar obras de otras personas todo lo de otras personas es plagio y secuestro
If everyone become like this world war 3 start
Nikola jokic described perfectly
Isn't this the exact opposite of visualization or the law of attraction
Wow this video is so pointless but dam you made money off of it… good job I guess
Someone really needs to beat the sociology department with a thesaurus for this video's title.
Reverse effect theory is about not obsessing over things, and this lesson was even featured in TV shows I grew up watching.
There's a difference between caring and being obsessive.
And I TRY to stay POSITIVE
INSIDEthis world that's NEGATIVE!
Keep my head up as I walk on
Never put your head down, in your mind gotta stay strong!
-Razorblade Handgrenade
One of your best videos IMHO…
Yes, it's about planning, thinking, visualising but then letting go. I have a weekly responsibility that my mindbody does not look forward to – when I let go and arrived 5 minutes late, 5 members of staff were there doing what I normally do on my own with a burdensome mind!!. Great lesson.

Mental control paradox.
What you insist, persists.
Creative process is surrender, not control. Mystery is at the heart of creativity.
Wu Wei, effortless action. Non-striving.
Attention is on the task at hand, not on the future or past.
Our thoughts can stand in our way.
Thanks. 12 July 2023.💖💖💖💖🌷🌷🌷🌿🌿🌿🌹🌹🌻
