The best way I can answer whether Overwatch 2 is being driven by corporate greed or not… just depends on perspective. I can understand to a degree that the numbers in the price can have some customers jumping to ideas and conclusions, and some just don't take enough time to think about the possibilities as to why. This might sound controversial, but I believe that taking a purchase on a specific product just based on who made it depends on your decision and reasons. For instance, I bought the pack in order to get access to the beta and the only specific reason why I did it was because I wanted to show how much I love Overwatch and I did for the good people in the team who created the game. Not for Kotick. The Overwatch team had been taking a lot of unfair heat from people the past year, and many of the things that happened at Blizzard wasn't their fault. So any purchases I have taken in the past and may take in the future has been and will always be for the Overwatch team, and that will especially be evident whenever Kotick is gone for good.
I'm glad they're choosing for a battlepass, if you've played the fame for a while, you already have everything, and all you get are duplicates and coins, but you can't even use the coins, because you already have everything! xD I will miss the ability to collect all items tho :c I like the cosmetics! xD GREAT VIDEO (also, I do not put pineapple on pizza 🍍❌🍕)

Battle pass cant save this game..If they actualy made new game and fix desing problems of OW 1 instead of making Ow reforged … Comparasion Smite have 10.5 k on twitch OW 2 have 6.5 today smite 6.5 OWR 5.5 game is D.O.R sory..
Overwatch had out of all games industry, the most player friendly lootbox system ever made for a game
but it's true, there are people who think buying 1 skin for 10$ is better than playing 4 hours at most to get all skins during an event, because time is money or something
I think it’s sort of obvious that Activision has taken at least partial control of overwatch, and I don’t know if that’s necessarily a bad thing.
Activision has an actual boatload of problems, but they are efficient. They make solid, mostly high quality content faster than almost any other company in the insudsty. They also know how to walk the line between being too nice and actually turning a profit. I think if they take some of that efficiency, and mix it with blizzard’s love and creativity, there may be a good future for overwatch 2.
My hot take, overwatch is a franchise based entirely on greed

To be frank (I may be right or wrong) but if they have what it takes to save OW franchise, they have to take a different approach and many would be happy or mad but honestly, they have to build more profit and in the future, OW may get bigger than 6 years ago. I mean, you can’t make everyone happy (seriously, we can’t). So I am willing to take the risk if it meant to save OW because I really want to play more of this game. It’s how they bring consumers in, but it’s our choice to either play it or don’t play it 🤷🏽♀️
Plus, I doubt Bobby would be around until next year because Microsoft is changing everything slowly.

The thing about loot boxes is that they are free. You can buy them but it is possible to just play the game and get every piece of content in the game from free loot boxes for events, free loot boxes from twitch prime, for xmas, for every level. No one points a gun to anyone's head and makes them buy loot boxes. Also you get currency as a secondary way to purchase cosmetics so for box price you can get years of content with no need to spend money so long as you play the game. Battle passes wont be as generous. Why ppl hate free content and wanted to get rid of em is beyond me.
LET US BUY WHAT WE WANT. Let us pay Blizzard for sick content we choose to buy and encourage them to keep making more. DUH! let's go!!!!!!!!!
