  1. This has been pointed out a lot in the fandom. But part of the reason I and many others believe Mabel trusted Stan is because he said "please" and as we and Mabel learned in S1E13(boss Mabel) stan has trouble saying please

  2. In the Land Before Swine episode, McGucket was telling a story where he was fighting with a raccoon over a piece of meat and they accidentally kiss. Now, he has a raccoon wife.

  3. Fans were so close or figured out that Stan has a brother. So Alex Hirsch leaked a photo of McGucket being the author to throw us off.

Video doesn't contain spoilers for the remaining episodes. Not sure about the comments though. Better not read it to be sure.

  4. There were actually a bunch of clues about his brother's existence before now, but they were pretty subtle and could easily be written off with everything else going on in this show:
S1E03 – Stan freaks out initially seeing the wax replica of himself then later mourns the figure's "death"
S1E16 – Stan quickly hides a pair of glasses in the carpet room then spends his time looking at them sadly
S1E19 – We see the swing set with two swings that features in this episode's credit sequence in Stan's mind, but there one of them is broken
That's just a few, and a few more connections (including another incredible one from S1E19) will be made more clear after the reveals in the next episode, so I'll save my comment on those for then!

EDIT: Somehow I forgot to put one of the biggest: the Stan we see in S1E09 in the snowy Shack in the past is actually Stan’s brother.

  5. notice:

Stan getting emotional over a wax replica of himself getting murdered
Stan constantly finding rooms in the shack that he didn't know were there
Stan holding the glasses from the carpet diem room while watching baby fights
Stan getting mistaken for as "an author" in Mabel's bottomless pit story
Stan general obsession with family and bonding in the Gobblewonker episode
Stan constantly saying things like "after 30 long years, it'll all have been worth it"
Stan being a dutchess, but also a woman

  6. ♥️𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆❤️ Alles sehr schön. Aber zuerst zusammen die Nummern 10 und 1. Eine warmthhh.Online Brünette und eine andere Blondine. Es wäre unfairg, wenn ich 4 wählen würde

  7. You're not an idiot. The clues are all there, on a second watch it's painfully obvious. But you're not an idiot for missing this. When this was airing, people you're this show apart for clues and some people made the theory of there being another stan as early as bill's first appearence.

But no this is a mystery show. You're not an idiot for not figuring it out.

  8. This episode contains a massive revelation that completely re-contextualises everything we thought we knew about Grunkle Stan:

6:35“Gah! Hot Belgian Waffles!  Wait… I'm alone. I can swear for real!”
That's right! Grunkle Stan censors himself around the twins. That means the Stan we've seen all summer long, since episode 1, was actually the toned-down, kid-friendly version!
    If that's not a total mind-blower, I don't know what is.

Oh, and apparently he also had a brother or something.

  9. Welp, I'm subbed…….I might've missed your other reactions but I'll make sure I catch all the rest. And might I recommend either checking out Amphibia or Owl House if you've got the time?

  10. Yep your reactions are similar to how mine was the first time I saw this episode! I definitely didn’t expect this. My niece had tried doing the ciphers in every episode and watched the first season reruns regularly while we waited on the second season to premiere. She had kept saying Stan wasn’t the author, but she thought it was someone related to Stan we hadn’t met yet. I remember a bit before this episode she came to me telling me that something got leaked online that said it was McGuckett. However after the last episode she ruled him out as the author and being related to Stan. She was so excited when Stan announces who has come through the portal as it confirmed her theory that it was someone related. I, on the other hand, was taken by surprise! I was used to things getting leaked online and them being wrong so it not being McGuckett didn’t surprise me. But then that it wasn’t Stan and indeed was a relative just floored me. I really had been so dismissive of what she and several of her friends watching had been saying about clues. I really didn’t think a show, a cartoon at that, would bother to do that. I was so wrong and it was at this point that Gravity Falls became a major favorite for me. That the writers and creators wouldn’t forget things that happened previously and that they’d hide clues about things in plain sight in episodes just felt genius to me! Later on I learned, I think it’s on the DVD set in the extras, that the leaked image and info about McGuckett was from the creator, Alex, himself. He had seen in online forums where someone fans were starting to figure it out and he didn’t want them ruining it for fans who hadn’t so he intentionally made an account, posted the fake image and info pretending to be a fan who figured it out, then got it removed and reposted as himself about the leak as if he was upset that something important had been put out. He knew how long to leave it out there, too, so people would get screenshots and repost and talk about it after the original post was removed. It definitely worked as I remember talking about it with my niece and she saying that McGuckett could be related to Stan, but that she didn’t remember him having six fingers and the image shows him with six fingers on a hand. One of her other friends swore for the longest time that it was Toby. Their reasoning was because he runs the newspaper. Another friend thought it was the skinny cop. So everyone definitely had their theories at the time. Even my niece was surprised as she figured she was wrong. So your reaction and then asking should you have seen it coming. Most of us didn’t see it coming and had the same reaction of pure shock. Upon rewatching the series it is fun to actually notice just how much the show per episode hints at all kinds of different things that we learn about later. It’s a lot of fun to rewatch just because of that; once you know the main story you get to see lots of other stories revealed in the background, too. Kinda like the show Community does with its background actors and settings (which again I didn’t notice at the time of first watching, but started noticing on rewatch….like one main character literally delivers a baby in the background in an episode of season one and then later when it gets brought up again in another season and I just thought it happened off camera, but nope it’s there happening in the background and I just missed it. Gravity Falls has lots of things like that happening in the background, too).

Great video!! Now you’re getting into the really great episodes…..some of my absolute favorites of this series!!

I love how animated Disney shows love roasting their live action content! It's basically them realizing how different the two kinds of content are (not to mention revenge for the way Disney usually abuses their animated shows). Why, earlier this month, Big City Greens and Zombies have been having a little mini-feud, with the Greens making shorts about them crank calling the cast and even parodying the films, and then making a Theme Song Takeover in which the two main leads enter the show as cartoons and roast the family, and even then it ends with the Greens beating the two up.

  12. i loved your reaction. im glad youre enjoying the show 💓 as far as seeing it coming or not, apparently during the show’s original run a lot of people theorized stan’s twin— i personally have never caught on to one single moment of foreshadowing in this show before it came relevant though lol so. i dont think anyone’s an idiot for not seeing it coming. i think some people just enjoy piecing together clues and observations lol 😇
