  1. As pointed out by @potatospy420, sorting by color is an option in Pokémon home. I genuinely have no clue how I missed that. My sincerest apologies

Also, as mentioned by @mrcombustiblelemon2902, it started out as a search option in the Gen 3 Pokédex.

    Im ashamed.

  2. If you don't know the type and the first time you encounter that kind of pokemon with no info (blind playthrough, newbie), you'd probably deduce the pokemon type from the color like blue = water type aside from analyzing on what kind of "thing" is that (fish, plant, bird etc), but that isn't always the case.

  3. Some more strange ones:
    – Abra: Brown
    – Bronzor/Bronzong: Green
    – Deerling (Autumn): Red
    – Golett/Golurk: Green
    – Regidrago: Green

From what I can tell, there's often a larger priority on matching the head color. Druddigon is Red and Cresselia is Yellow, despite the rest of their bodies being primarily different colors. Though, this isn't true in many cases.

  4. It bothers me that regidrago is classified as green.
    How?!

It has zero green on it!
It’s a red orb with blue eyes and black/grey dragon head shaped arms. What part of it is green?

  5. I think the orange category doesn’t exist because Japan didn’t traditionally have orange as a category. The word they have for orange is borrowed too. Before that orange was either a dark yellow or a red. A lot of cultures/languages were/are like this with orange.

  6. Oh I know what's up with the orange thing. They don't have a word for orange in Japan, lot of languages don't. Orange isn't a concept, so the game is programmed without it in mind, and they didn't bother adding a different search filter category to accommodate a small localization issue.

  7. Saying that Mareep are dirty might actually be right. In real life, all sheep come in three colors; black, brown or white. It's only through exposure to the elements does a sheep turn other colors, like grey or pale yellow because of a buildup of stuff on a white sheep, or grey as a black sheep stands under the sun and the outside layer of its wool is bleached.

  8. The last one the Pokedex KNOWS it is a disguise, but also understands the morbid curiosity of humans. If told the truth they would look under said disguise and die. Either that or the Pokedex doesn't want to hurt Mimikyu's feelings.
