Not all heroes wear capes.
On August 16th, around 7:00pm, LMPD’s 2nd Division officers were dispatched to a two-story house in the 1700 block of Bolling Ave on a female screaming for help. The call came in from neighbors. When officers arrived, they heard (and saw) a female in distress from a 2nd story window. The officers attempted to make forced entry through the main door of the house however, it was barricaded. Eventually, officers obtained a ladder (which is captured on the circulated Facebook video) and ascended to the 2nd floor window. Inside, they discovered an adult female, chained to the floor. The woman had a chain around her neck, which was secured by a MasterLock, and that chain was bolted to the floor with screws. Officers found a hatchet inside the home and began going to work on the chain. Eventually, officers were able rescued the woman from the structure. LMEMS and LFD responded and treated the female victim. Our Domestic Violence Unit has been working non-stop on this case.
Two days after the incident, LMPD arrested the alleged suspect in this case
