  1. Some shows are saying how well the Leafs played last night.
And that what we saw was the final lineup for the Leafs.
You guys – not so much. 😮
And btw : talking about Tavares as is he is a liability. His star has completely fallen.

  2. I’m not sure I get all the concern around Murray getting hurt. It’s a stroke of luck! He did his part during the season providing competition to Samsonov and playing games so Samsonov didn’t have to, and now we don’t need him! Thank you and let Samsonov take it from here, thank you! 💪🏼💪🏼

  3. In a roundabout way kyper you guys have highlighted a concern of mine in terms of line combinations.

Matthews tavares and Nylander were in there because of lines being thrown out of whack due to marner being on the pk and being gassed.

YES Marner is a great pk player but he's out there killing and now that the play is over three guys are out there that barely play together.

If O'Reilly is on the third line can he and Lafferty play pk? Maybe kampf and acciari play the other pk line?

Or another thought maybe have matthews and marner on the pk? Because my main concern isn't that marner is killing a penalty it's that the lines are shuffled and juggled and your mixing players with different levels of fatigue.

I'd like to see either option honestly either try taking marner off the pk, or try playing matthews with marner on the pk.

Also I kind of liked the McCabe holl combo it frees up Reilly and brodie to be together…. I know McCabe brodie will probably be the shutdown pair but there can always be an injury, it's good to see other line combos that work well together.

  4. The final stretch is so important. I wish they would let the stars rest at the start of the seasons. Use it as developmental for the Ahlers and let the stars start a couple weeks late. Then sprinkle in a couple extra days off in the middle of the season

  5. Nylander isn't trying. He is just floating around. Marner can't make Nylander care. Normally I'd say put Nylander on the fourth line because that has always worked in the past but they shouldn't screw up a great 4th line for a guy who can't be bothered. IDK, maybe send him to the press box if he doesn't want to skate

Tavares was playing great with Marner and Keefe screwed it up to "get Matthews going." Why does Matthews need Marner to get going?

Since he has come into the League, Keefe has been brutal at line matching. That he screwed up again is hardly a surprise.

If you play Matthews and Marner together it is too easy for Cooper to get his shutdown players out against them. Maybe it would work if Keefe was some sort of line matching genius, but it doesn't when he is the guy who got outcoached by Ducharme.

The Leafs organization should have gone to the mat with the NHL over Bunting and they didn't.

Bring all the fighters to Tampa. I love it.

  6. You don’t play anyone that you don’t want to get hurt against Florida or the rangers……the likelihood that Kreider slides into a goalie and takes out their knees is way too high

  7. Nylander is a marshmallow. There are moments in the game where if he either took a hit or heaven forbid GAVE a big hit, it could provide the spark necessary to pull out a team victory. Love his skill set but he has more to give on the physical side.

  8. I am leaning more and more to a possible coaching change on the horizon. I can't help but feel a ball buster coach may be what is needed to take the next step for the Leafs.

  9. I think when you are leading in the 3rd, your goal is not to score more goals. Your goal is to win the game. If no one scores for the rest of the game, you win. You trap it up for a period. Use all your energy in the defensive zone. Don't put out experimental lines. Also, Luke Schenn's job is to hit and move bodies from the front of the net and make their lives miserable and he's doing that. If you're his defensive partner and you're not doing that (which I'm pretty sure they are not) and you're not trying support him to get the puck and move it out of the zone, what exactly is it that you do?
