I am only 2 minutes in, and I am thinking how beautiful it is. Too bad you couldn’t move the worms and put the time lapse GoPro on the fungus…
that looks like some sort of fungus that came with the leaves in the bin
So while it is said fungus creates amazing vermicompost, that was a bit aggressive for my tastes. Like other poster said, it seems likely the leaves brought in from outside brought in the fungus. I’d watch closely as the bloom may have blown spores on the other trays.
This is dog vomit fungus. It's apparently really good for compost and popular in worm bins!
That's slime mold and it's not harmful at all, despite looking a bit disgusting when it's fresh.
No idea what it is, but you dropped a piece in your bin bottom camera left
Slime mold. Harmless.
I agree with the other commentators it's a slime mold commonly referred to as dog vomit fungus I see it air on woodchips outdoors. it really likes carbon. Probably came in with your leaves.
It's a slime mold… Not harmful just weird.
For me breaking up sticks, stems and avocado pits and shells isn't about cheating nature but about helping worms and micro-organisms consume them in less time.
I put mushrooms of all kinds in my worm's most likely you can just feed them that stuff you took off the side If it comes back

It's definitely NOT marshmallow, I can tell that with most certainty 😉
I think these fungi are like icebergs and what you see is only a small fragment of the colony. If it came with your leaves in the bin, elements of it are still in the bedding. It may be back until the conditions in the bin are not conducive to its growth. Other than the initial shock, I think that’s a good thing for your worms!

It has been a weird year. Looks like a snickerdoodle cookie. I think it would have been fine. You get the trophy for helicopter worm parent of the week.🤩🪱🚁
😂Yep, looks like a slime mold, should be harmless
Whoa!!! There is definitely a fungus among us!! I don't know what kind ,but it looks like it wanted to throw spores all over your worm bin!! Very good clean up crew operation there! I wonder how it got there in that one spot without getting into the other bin?? I think keeping the plastic on top is still the right move for one more round. My guess is 200…higher than I normally would have guessed based on all the tiny babies you picked in a small area and the good amount of wiggling I saw at first before the time lapse got really going. Awesome video AV!!🪱🪱🪱
Good work finding it before it developed further. It has extremely prolific spores that could be rough on your lungs in an enclosed space.
