I'm glad you found the salt! I think the things labeled scavengeable can't be donated to the museum. In an energy emergency lots of things might be edible.
Loving this play through, if u wish to make lots of money u can fish for sharks on sunny days in summer, they sell for 800 gold each and u can fish them all day
You definitely need loads of money to get things started. You will want to get ranching cows as soon as you can, it will become a roadblock to a good amount of content until you get it moving. And I could be wrong, but I believe the altar items for the underwater stuff only appear in deeper waters (except the salt), so that comes much later, just enjoy the diving and keep healing the coral sites and all will be made clear 🙂 And you do not need to hoard bugs/insects. If you cannot donate them now, no new ones open when the museum expands, they just get new habitats (I cannot wait for your reaction to the new museum, it will be grand). Beyond the museum, after you finish the entire first altar, there will be some bugs needed for the second, which I wont spoil which ones, but if you are in no rush to unlock things, I think the money for them now would do you better, and if nothing else you can catch things again next year when your farm is more developed and your financials are more stable. Love the content and this series, hope I didnt spoil anything for you. <3

The NPC:s are very chatty. If you keep clicking they will tell you all sorts of things about themselves, the island and the other NPC:s.
Get sharks in summer before they get nerfed like honey was, literally you can make soooo much money from sharks it kinda ruins the game really as by the end of summer you will have more money they you can spend and everything upgraded to the current max
you have to leave and return , look to the right
Whilst mining the last levels 30-40 have to be done in one go so take enough food to stay down there once you’ve reached level 40 the next mine(water) opens and that’s where you will find silver (great videos)
