Description: On Sol 5 of our Mars survival journey, we hit the jackpot. After targeting four abandoned bases for a reconnaissance, we struck gold at the second stop – we found an ATV. It was in a sorry state but with some quick repairs, we got the wheels turning. We replaced a small circuit board and it was back to life, a real game changer for our Mars exploration.
We also earned the experience necessary to upgrade our grinder to level 2. This means we can now start scrapping solar panels and water wells, giving us much-needed resources for base expansion.
With the ATV now at our disposal, our movements around Mars will be faster and less energy-consuming. We can cover more ground, reach farther resources, and make it back to base before dark. We can also carry more on the ATV, making resource collection more efficient.
Tomorrow’s goal? Kick start our farming efforts. We’ve gathered enough resources to expand our power and water capabilities. This is the first crucial step towards self-sufficiency on this harsh planet. With the resources in place, we’re all set to sow the first seeds of our Mars farm. The plan is to start with basic crops to ensure we don’t run out of rations. Stay tuned for our first attempts at Martian agriculture in the next episode!
