The NYPD released body camera video that shows an officer punching a woman in the face before she falls to the ground and hits her head on the pavement. NBC News’ Ron Allen reports on how the woman’s family is now speaking out as NYC Mayor Eric Adams says the officer showed restraint.

So if it was a guy it would be okay? I thought woman wanted to be treated equal? If that was a guy they would have done more. Not saying it's right but just because your a woman doesn't mean you can hit someone without any consequences.

He hit first, she hit back (both in the wrong) then he unnecessarily escalated his attack, using a level of force that was not required to subdue and arrest her
I think, from a logical and impartial perspective, the first two "hits" could've been ignored from both sides but the heavy-handed attack from the officer, being as unnecessary as it clearly was, deserves punishment. The fact that the two minor hits lead to the attack means they have to take into account those first hits
She should be charged with assault and he should be charged with something above that – aggregated assault or battery maybe
a disgrace for the New York community, the girl must immediately be tried for obstruction to the public official, insults and aggression, and her lover tried for murder, because clearly he was considering what beasts they are
