After your petition is approved, the National Visa Center (NVC) helps you prepare for visa interviews at U.S. Embassies & Consulates. This video explains how NVC processes immigrant petitions. Let’s watch the video to see the National Visa Center’s (NVC) current processing times. Please watch the most recent video before continuing. You may locate the current video in the description or on the top right of your screen. Your immigrant visa petition (I-130 or I-140) must be granted by USCIS before going to the National Visa Center. After USCIS approves your Immigrant Visa petition, they’ll send it to the NVC for pre-processing. What comes next? So, NVC will send you a welcome letter if your Priority Date meets the most recent Cut-off Date or is about to become current. #1 Charge visa application costs. #2 Gather your visa application and documents. #3 Hold your visa petition until a consular officer interview may be scheduled. If your Priority Date isn’t current, the NVC will tell you and hold your petition until it is. NVC will contact you to start processing when your Priority Date approaches the Cut-off Date. The State Department updates the Visa Bulletin’s Cut-off Dates monthly. First, NVC creates your case on their system. The NVC will send you a Welcome Letter by e-mail or mail after the case is created depending on the priority cutoff dates. With the welcome letter’s information, you can log in to CEAC to monitor the status, receive messages, and manage your case. Once you submit your fees, forms, and supporting documents to NVC, NVC will examine your case to confirm you provided all the essential documentation to arrange the immigrant visa interview. Case File Time. Since 28-Nov-2022, NVC is working on USCIS cases. NVC will email you processing instructions and a Welcome Letter with your Case Number and Invoice ID after entering your petition data into the system.
