Nuzlocking EVERY POKEMON GAME EVER, But I Can't Use Repeats (Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum)

It’s time for a new adventure! After having trekked through many of these games time and time again, I wanted to have one final ultimate challenge in the vanilla mainline Pokemon franchise… Can I beat, every SINGLE Pokemon game in chronological order in a hardcore nuzlocke setting, and without reusing a single Pokemon in any other game? For instance, if I use Bulbasaur in Red version, I won’t be able to use it in Blue, Yellow, Firered, or any other game. Come along on this journey with me and find the struggles, the cuts, the innovations, the strategies, and the potential laughs along the way.

FAQ:
Q. What are those non-nicknamed Pokemon in your party for, do they count towards the total?
A. They’re HM users, nothing more. No, they don’t count towards the total since they’re never used in battle. Except Espeon and Umbreon, I still have yet to look up if Colosseum has a name rater lolol

Q. If you catch a Pokemon, doesn’t it count as used?
A. Nope! They’re only “used” if they get put into battle and use an attack. This is to avoid things like non-usable Pokemon sitting in the party and getting gusted out via Whirlwind or Roar.

Q. What are the 39 games involved in this series?
A. Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Colosseum, FireRed, LeafGreen Emerald, XD, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, Black 2, White, White 2, X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, Ultra Moon, Let’s Go Eevee, Let’s Go Pikachu, Sword, Shield, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, Legends Arceus, Scarlet, and Violet.

Q. What about games like FR/LG where you get a starter that you’ve already used, do you fail the challenge?
A. No, since the nuzlocke doesn’t start until I receive Pokeballs, I simply go out and capture an unused Pokemon at full HP and continue after boxing the starter.

Q. Are you choosing your encounters?
A. Occasionally. I have a document where I’ve laid out encounters for the entire franchise. But isn’t that against the spirit of a nuzlocke? I don’t think so, I think the battles are the main challenge, after all, I can just reset the run to get the right first encounter, but that would make producing these videos a lot slower and less enjoyable.

  1. Heya, thanks for watching everybody! Just as a reminder: TELEGRAM IS A SCAM, DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM! I only do giveaways on Twitter!

Speaking of which, I'll be doing a giveaway on TWITTER for 4 copies of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet following the currently running one for a collector's rare Black Luster Soldier, a Yugioh card that's worth around $300, which you can find here: https://twitter.com/ChaoticMeatball

  2. Loving these videos. Shame to see Krick go out that way though, it can hold its own in BDSP but I don't doubt you have a plan to get through those games. I like how you've handled Pokémon evolutions like Ralts and Eevee too which makes things even more challenging yet you've got this far with only 10 deaths. Keep up the great work!

  3. "Candice Infernape fit down your throat?"

"for the love of all that is super-effective"

"Candice Machamp fit down her throat? Yes, but only if <Mismagius> prepares the hole first"

"There's no time for tanks here, we're the Unga Bunga brigade!"

  4. I'm wondering if Jan (Pokémon Challenges) could complete this as well… like, he says he is probably the best… but… you're definitely setting a bar right now and I'm just going to say: this is potentially Harder than an Emerald Kaizo challenge since if a Pokémon is used in one game, regardless of death or not, it can't be used in another game. Ever. On top of that you have to keep a checklist of Pokémon available in each gen and remake of said game and any sequels or enhanced versions (looking at you gen 5 and 7), at least it should get easier until Let's Go games as you literally HAVE to get the earliest route Pokémon possible to be your "true" starter pre-Brock or early Rival fight. (I forget if that exists in that version, I got bored of it extremely fast.)

  5. Video was great. I kept being amazed at how simple most of these fights seemed, then 5 badges into diamond remembered I was thinking of renegade platinum and that game might've hurt me more than I thought it did

  6. Is it just me, or is it strange the close combat from Aaron’s Heracross doesn’t hurt Rotom in its Heat form? Rotom losse ghost type when using it in its forms right? Loving this series btw, not complaining or anything just wondering?
