  1. I don't think NASA will ever take humans past low Earth orbit again. In fact, I think NASA's manned space flight days are numbered and will end permanently since private companies are doing a better job of it for far less money and with much better reliability. After all, if you want a project to be ridiculously over budget, ridiculously late, ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated (because it is designed by committee), and ridiculously unsafe (in the name of safety), get the government involved.

  2. What about the straight up nuclear jet? This is supposed to use liquid fissile material to create a continuous nuclear explosion and forming it into a jet effectively burning fissile material to create a jet like a chemical rocket.

  3. This might be all well and good however look at the world we live in. I'm okay if we send people to Mars as long as you no Republican party involved or Democratic party because you don't want to take the same problems here , to a new planet,

  4. Can I bring up we have right now nuclear-powered submarines and if you look back through the history I have nothing against nuclear propulsion or reactor, now you must think very clearly if a nuclear reactor fails on a nuclear submarine pretty much everyone usually dies depending on the depth, and , if we're talking about space and going to distant planets using nuclear propulsion is the safest way to go, because of what I've already seen here. You're not going to be able to just surface and get fresh air in space, we as human beings do not understand these things, it's not going to work. Dream on if you must but it's not going to happen…….

  5. could someone elaborate what the final goal of going to mars is ? seeing that the living circumstances are way harsher than here on earth or do we want to terraform it ? wouldnt it than not be easier to first bring the planet we live on now back to before the industrial age in global emission state?

  6. What was that crack about MSNBC? Yo I don't watch the channel but I get the political dog whistle. Bye … I can hear pretentious Englishmen with beards dating the same thing everyone else is saying elsewhere
