‘Not one to gloat!’ Sarah Vine reacts as Kate voted most popular royal over Meghan | The Reaction

This week on The Reaction, Andrew Pierce demands criminal prosecutions as the long-awaited Cass Review outlines major failures in NHS transgender services for children. Andrew questions the true number of victims affected.

Sarah Vine speaks to former Tavistock governor turned whistleblower Marcus Evans on why his calls for better scrutiny of trans care for kids were ignored, and how ideology became more important than medical evidence when it comes to treating children with gender dysphoria.
Also ahead, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slump in the popularity ratings among the British public, with only Prince Andrew coming out worse. The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is voted the most popular royal, closely followed by Prince William, but there is a surprising entry at number three.

Plus, lifelong Conservative voter Sarah tells us why she is now agreeing with LABOUR when it comes to reforming the NHS. Sarah explains how ‘Waitrose women’ like her are disillusioned with the Conservative party’s failure to tackle the NHS.

And they discuss whether parents should be held accountable for their children’s crimes, after the parents of a school shooter in the US were jailed for manslaughter. Plus, Sarah says computerised cars terrify her and should be banned.

Showbiz supremo Katie Hind gives us the inside track on why friends of Amy Winehouse are so furious with the new biopic about her life, Back to Black. In her review, Katie argues Amy’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil is portrayed as a ‘Disney Prince’ when that was far from the reality. And, how Fern Britton is getting the last laugh when it comes to her rivalry with former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield.

  1. I live in the US and have for 30 years. I live in Michigan (pronounced Mishigan just to get it right) But you need to look at what the parents did and didn't do I have followed the case. These parents were responsible, there are so many reasons why. They need ever year of the sentence they are the worst kind of parents. And yes the gun culture here is unbelievably bad. I am a Brit so I don't agree with guns at all. I love Princess Catherine and Prince William I also love Princess Anne and always have. But Harry and Meg…right at the bottom…

  2. As a mother who has had three sons, I can tell you, boys do not emotionally mature until they are at least 25. They may be 6'6 with a beer belly, but they are very immature for a long time. It was with a slight exhale when my sons did eventually get to a level of maturity. I have known young people with dysphoria or what they perceive as dysphoria but fortunately for them, their parents did not refer them to these clinics and while some of the young men have come out as 'gay' others now (in their 30's) are happily married and starting families. I'm a staunch William supporter and Catherine. William ticks every box, especially how he doesn't allow you media types to push him around!

  3. US presidents have very little power to make laws. As in the UK, the legislation is in the House and Senate. Those parents who gave their son a gun and didn't take him away from school when they were called in and shown what he wrote on his paper ("Help me" with a drawing of a gun) because they were too busy with work, should be held responsible. The boy was 15, and you said yourselves that the frontal cortex is not fully developed until 25.

  4. Who actually cares about "popularity"? We're not in an American high-school, where it was important to be "popular" and get voted "Prom Queen", and invited to sororities (whatever they might be – clubs maybe?), and then get nowhere in life. Tsk tsk. We KNOW Catherine is an asset, we don't need a Poll to confirm it.

  5. That windbag talks and talks and talks and doesn’t let anyone else get a word in, not even the guests. Make her go away. And please never let her host or appear on Palace Confidential again.

  6. I thoroughly disliked Gillian Anderson’s interpretation of Emily Maitlis in Scoop. Gillian once again used that strange strangled sounding voice she used as when she was cast as Margaret Thatcher. In actuality, Emily Maitlis’s voice is as smooth and soothing as melted chocolate laced with expensive brandy.

  7. I was a tomboy up until I was about age 14. I loved hanging with my brother and acting like a guy and dressing like a guy and then one day I didn’t. I was a woman and I was very happy with that. yes kids change

  8. Catherine, The Princess of Wales wholeheartedly deserves that position right at the very top. Although I was only a child throughout Diana's time, and very sad passing. I think the difference between the two ladies is that Catherine married for love, she doesn't need to seek the attention and affection from elsewhere. Diana, on the other hand was obviously in a marriage where both she and Charles were not suited to each other, and had very little in common, which must have been incredibly lonely and painful for both of them. This is most probably the reason why she courted the press, and seemed to seek any attention that she could get. If only King Charles III would have been allowed to marry for love, rather than having strict restrictions and pressures on what 'type' of woman he should choose, then we would have had a far different Royal family to what we have now. Thankfully though we have the wonderful Prince and Princess of Wales and their beautiful children, and The King and Queen have celebrated 19 wonderful, happy and fulfilled years of marriage. She truly is the wife he obviously should have had all along. As for Princess Anne, she really is the definition of her title of Princess Royal. She is everything anyone could want of in a Princess, dutiful, loyal, charitable, caring and considerate. Her amazing personality is that added bonus that really is the cherry on top of the Royal cake!

  9. Love Princess Catherine & Princess Anne. I have no clue why Gillian Anderson played Emily Maitlis as Margaret Thatcher light. Perhaps she can’t master a British accent?

  10. These so-called trans children that suddenly appeared from nowhere were probably greatly influenced and brainwashed by Tiktok videos and social media in general and then had the bad luck to have very liberal parents. How many were transitioned and permanently damaged based on very weak evidence?
