—————————
A Subway that turns into an elevator and upside down monorails. Places are different, so are the ways they get around.
Moving around quickly and efficiently is a huge driver for the growth and success of places. Figuring out how to do that usually comes down to what the place looks like. It’s about what’s the most efficient way to cross that type of land. Under, over, on top of, around, anything goes really.
Genova Italy was built on mountains hugging the sea. So they have what’s essentially a subway that turns into an elevator. It travels 750 feet underground then converts to a vertical elevator which goes up 20 stories to get from sea level to the hills above.
Other places with similar terrain use funiculars to get up hills. Valparaiso Chile has more than a dozen funiculars. Also included the Stoosbahn in Switzerland bc, how could I not show that.
Medellin Columbia has steep hills and is also very tightly packed, so they use gondola lifts that travel high above the city and into the hills.
Cities in China have a traffic problem (I mean, who doesn’t). So they developed busses that drive over cars (officially called Transit Elevated Busses or “TEB”). But as of now no one’s figured out how to make those work efficiently or safely, so the straddling bus is just cool to look at… for now.

How about emergency vehicles that drive over cars/other vehicles? I just hate seeing emergency vehicles with sirens on that are stuck in traffic.
See the Georgia Marta.
The "buses that drive over cars" was just a publicity gimmick, it's not practical in any way and never will be
Gondolas are normal in eu
The elevated bus thing is kinda dumb imo. Just make a metro/tramway/light rail. Having more public transport intrinsically reduces car use, so traffic will go down without needing such an over-engineered product.
You could say that Genoa is on a different level
I got dizzy with attention deficit with this video.
A bus that goes over cars? They do realize they can build elevated rail lines right? Other cities in China have them.
Gadgetbahns are interesting. But just use trains.
i literally had a dream of this
the classic method: bury tracks into the ground
I could sit and just watch all your videos…great job..more more more!
The bus over the cars is completely pointless. If you run a good bus service, people won't need to drive, and won't. It was probably designed by the kind of people who will support public transport as long as it doesn't get in the way of their precious cars.
In serbia: bus go 90° up and no fall yes it tru
Yeah bus lanes don't exist, right?
Those buses were a con
Really extremely creative stuff! You have to work with what you've got, right?!
That "Bus that drives over cars" is a scam that gets invented every year by a grad student who thinks they've solved traffic problems but didn't do any research.
Bro i have to say, you have an enjoyable voice. Also accent i guess? Idk its weird brotha you're easy to listen to lolol
This was a real well edited short
Its cool going up a hill with a gondel!!! but busses that drive offer cars… Naa better take a bike and stay healthy and forbidd it to drive in a 4-5 seats car with only the driver 👎😜
Chile, not "Chili".
This is the kind of weird stuff I like
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭:)
I heared the fact that the guys who came with the ideea of that busses over thr trafick, just abandoned the project and took all the money, and now companyes that invested hyred a new team of designers to fix all the problems , but with low hopes 🤣🤣
Thanks for the Schwebebahn
I love this channel
I read a really cool story about Medellin a couple years ago. Building the gondolas helped contribute to the massive violent crime rate drop because it was able to bring the rural kids to the city easier to help get them education and bring them more into society as a whole
