Northwest Passages: “Against All Odds” panel discussion with Charity Resian

The film “Against All Odds” is presented by Charity Resian who was raised in Maasai Mara in Kenya. As a teen she resisted the tradition of female genital mutilation, a common practice in her Maasai community. The film is about her return to her home village. She is on stage with De Scott, a Spokane business woman who recently traveled to Kenya and operates a non-profit focused on Kenya. Shane Desgrosellier, also a local business person, also participates in the discussion of global concerns. April Eberhardt, editor of the Black Lens newspaper, moderates the conversation Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 at the rehearsal hall at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
