The Woodland Realm was a kingdom of Silvan Elves located deep in Mirkwood, the great forest of Rhovanion, beginning in the Second Age. Following the War of the Last Alliance, Thranduil of the Sindar ruled over the Silvan Elves. Those of the Woodland Realm were known to be less wise and more dangerous than other Elves, but by the late Third Age were the only remaining Elven realm with a king.

  1. So what I am understanding is that this campaign is going to be short, you said you wanted to reclaim only Mirkwood and neighbouring provinces and what are you planning to play after this? Empire of Rhun?

  2. To expand on my comment from last time, I suggested getting Goblin town, instead of giving it away for free maybe you could trade it for Leodholt, a more then generous trade for the valesmen and obviously would improve you one the mini-map.

  3. Thanks๐Ÿ˜‚ for making me part of info โค.bro send a general to Dale city to get a mercenary cavalry and mercenary pikemen and use them to help legolas take eorlstone and burzakull and give it to bear people inexchange for leodholt and try using thranduil with a half garrison army with cavalry to keep pressure on dol goldur and take eryn rhunen.also help king Bain with a captain stack take settlement east of rhawburg and exchange it for esgaroth if possible to have a custom Dale city.make bear ppl more strong so that gundabad city is taken by bears or dwarfs

  4. Hello, my friend. The campaign is actually in a stall, but this is in your favour for now. You actually have cleaned up the "traffic" of Orcs, policing your northern roads and eliminating the Snorcs that roam around. The battle in Dain's Halls was a very good move, taking out Gaznag and releiving the citadel for Erebor. Now, it's up to you, whether you will continue your war over Gundabad while you claim Eryn Rhunen for the mission or you will concentrate on Dol Guldur and on for your unification with Lorien. Your economy goes very well and you can afford some more recruitment for the next stps, whichever they will be. I don't have too much to say right now, still too early and the path for the next objective is not clear to me. Though I can say that it's time to start thinking of getting the Maethyr units and more advanced infrastructure within the realm.
And now, let's add another episode for our story:

Legolas didn't have any more orders from Thranduil, thus he got up to the task he was already fit for: to clear out the Orcs from the north. Thus, in skirmishes he cleared out two small armies by ambushing them and raining them with arrows. Many of his men said that it was very weird that the Orcs did not have any sort of archers, but they had a lot of axes.
"Indeed", Legolas answered to a captain of archers when he pointed that comment out. "These are not the Orcs we know in Mirkwood, but a very different race of Orcs. They are good warriors and rely less on armour, although they have scavenged a lot from the Dwarfs that once inhabited in the Grey Mountains. They are strong and they like more to assault with axes and other melee weapons that hitting with bows".
"That's very true", Elenwe continued. "As we the Elfs of the Avari have noticed for too many years this exact race, they don'tlike the bows, nor they have developed any significant skill of how to make bows. But they like a lot their axes and they are very prominent to make them, crude but very effective, able to be used both with one hand and with both hands".
At that time, a messenger came from Thranduil, giving Legoals a roll. The Prince took it, had a glance and then turned it to his captains.
"You wanted all a battle, right?", he said. "Here's our target, from the King".
The captains looked at each other with a smile.

The army now was in front of Dain's Halls, a very desired prize for the Dwarfs. It was their ancestral capital after they had left Khazad-dum in the early eyars of the Third Era, when the Balrog exalted them from their ancient home. From there it was when they went to Erebor after the attack of the Cold Drakes. And now, Elfs were in front of them, but not exactly there. As there was a small army, another one, to depart from the Halls to raid out south into the upper Vale of Anduin. So, Legolas had no point to change his strategy, but sent in front the cavalrymen to bait the Orcs and drive them in the very positions of the archers, who rained hell and death upon the unsuspecting Orcs. But then a second army came out, as the scouts recognised none other than Gaznag himself, the Orc that had claimed the Halls and provoked Dain to attack many times. Though Gaznag was stupid enough not to know that hsi army had fallen to the trap, only that Elfs came out preparedless to provoke him. Thus, he again fell to the trap and got killed with all his men. But once again Legolas refused to get in and let the Dwarfs to step in, as a company that claimed fealty to King Dain got in the empty halls.
"Our King is very happy for the gift", the Dwarf said. "But it's not without anything in return. Our Kings have already spoken of this and our debt has to be paid".
    Legolas simply nodded and left.

"South of us, there is more to have", Elenwe said after she returned from her scout mission. "An army has attacked Framsburg, where the Beornings hold steadily, but they might need help. And Orthordir has arrived after evading an army that tried to hit Withibord, but got stranded and they return. They are right behind the corner. Shall we hit them?".
"Of course", Legolas said after the affirmative nods of the captains. "We need to clear the North before we think of our next steps. And I simply need to ask for the advice of my father".

  5. Great episode Ligizd.
My experience with the Hin-I-daur is to use them in the same terrain level so the body piercing projectiles go thru more models than if they are on a hill. Great unit to flank you main line then shoot down the line to annihilate whole units

  6. Yo Ligizd, been watching your videos for quite some time but it just occured to me that it looks like you are using the RTS camera option when in battles as opposed to the Total War Camera. The advantage of the TWC is that it allows you to pan down and up similar to the more modern TW games, which would allow you to take a closer look at units/fighting going on, in comparison the RTS camera seems to only zoom in on a fixed arc that point more towards the horizon.

One issue I did run into when I was trying to use this camera option was that the scroll speed seemed to be bugged/slow no matter what options were chosen in the camera speed settings but I found that if you press the page up key a couple of times until maxed then adjusted the settings it fixed it.

Anyway really enjoying this series, keep it up!
