  1. the Assimilator has me down a little, I hoped we got something on par with a primarch or a greator daemon or alike a sweep and a strike profile with the stike being atleast str 14 or 16

  2. I think it should hit a bit harder honestly, the feeling I got from these when they were hyped up was that they were supposed to basically be the “primarch” of the Tyranids, but I guess not, for how big and complex they are I wish they did something else besides “sit on objective” or “kill one dude really good”.

  3. Running an Assimilator forward with a Hive Tyrant and a Scythed Hierodule to dominate the midfield seems terrifying. The Hierodule sweeps the hordes, the Tyrant provides FNP, and they’re all very durable and can annihilate a Battleline. My Nidzilla lists need some of these…

The Emissary is awesome as well. Love the flexibility and dependability of those psychic shots, and a 4+ Invuln is awesome, especially with a 4+ FNP against mortals.

  4. It just seems really off to me that the emissary’s melee profile is the exact same as the hive tyrant’s, except it doesn’t have twin linked on it’s heavy attack profile. Makes me wonder if it was a typo. As is it could really use an increase in at least one of its stats to set it apart, either more attacks, more strength, more ap or more damage. Or have the talons and claws be a strike and sweep profile (talons got harder but with fewer attacks, claws with way more attacks that are light) rather than combined attacks

  5. think in most match ups emissary with the 5+fnp and oc15 going to be most compettive. tho if u run assimilator i would probably take the reroll wounds.just flexing into there strenghts at that point. I think in most matches up oc 15 on a very hard to shift monster will be useful vs assimilator going full dmg sometimes there just wont be anything to hunt. to bad assimilator cant get advance and charge from the stealth detachment it kind of looks and feels like it belongs with them as the apex hunter of assassin creatures and the somewhat massive lictor vibe it has with the hooks.

  6. Wow so glad I didn't pre-order these. what a crock of shit. The same melee profile as a hive tyrant, which is already considered overcosted despite its awesome special rule. 2 short range lascannon shots and some pretty shitty durability rules? And 305 for the no invuln assimilator? XD I wish this was a joke but it's not. I honestly wish they had gone full toned down dmg this edition with nothing that easily wipes vehicles and big monsters in one turn but sadly its business as usual with some having and others not. Compare this thing with a fire prism. Hell, compare this thing to a leman russ with a demolisher cannon! And you have to run this boy across the board while those can do their work from a range. More of the same from games workshop. What a disappointment

  7. Feel like they should have given the assimilator a base feel no pain or fights first seeing it’s a big beserker bug and assimilator better melee, bit daft to me it’s barely hitting harder than a power fist with those massive talons. Would help toward them both filling offensive and defensive roles instead of both being good in one role but not good enough in both.

I’m casual trash so my take may be shit and I’mma still run it and have a good time with it, but I fear for it when my mates Custodes come along and recreate the scene from the book but I reckon I’m going to struggle to take down multiple Custodes like it did in lore.

  8. Tried to preorder one of these alongside some other of the new stuff, but apparently the website decided to break on me; I have a payment record from paypal but no confirmation mail of my order. Which just absolutely blows.

  9. i want to see if this model can win the tournament. all i can see now is Aeldar if not Imp Titans.

if tyranids can't win even with the new codex and monster.. then this mean those monster are just useless against the current Meta.

  10. Psychic is ALWAYS a negative keyword tell me one benefit from this keyword and Tyranids have more of it then most factions.
so thees guys cost similar to Knights yet lack the bulk and damage of a knight? who balanced this

  11. Think I'm gonna go with the Emissary, that 4+ invuln is VERY valuable even with the reduced AP in 10th. Also that FNP for mortals can be extremely powerful against some factions. The melee isn't super great, but I think this model works well as a big distraction, the longer it takes to kill, the better.
