Originally, ATEEZ stands for what teenagers like from A to Z… but the meaning was broaden as they realized that their public is more than teenagers 💗
Oohhh I’m early!! I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one that isn’t over with ATEEZ’s Kingdom performances yet! 😭
A not so brief explanation of the performances below:
Wonderland: mainly covers the part of their storyline that they are pirates. I don’t really know for sure if the kraken is part of their storyline or if it’s just a performance thing used solemnly for kingdom but, my guess is that it is of their storyline too.
Rythm Tá: covers the part of their storyline that they are rebels against the government, governed by giant androids (they do not show up in the performance tho), and the androids manipulate the population of Strictland* to not consume art, dance and music because they deem human emotions are a disease. This performance shows them performing a heist (deeply inspired by Money Heist series, Hongjoong told us later). Atinys still don’t know what they need this money for yet though 😭
* Strictland is another dimension, different from the one that ATEEZ are pirates. And yes, ATEEZ’s storyline has a dimension traveling thing, and they can do that while they have the hourglass with them (the one the guy with black fedora delivers to pirate Captain Hongjoong in the beginning of Wonderland, and the one that the rebel “Hala” Hongjoong gets from the heist in the end of Rythm Tá. “Real ATEEZ” is the name for ATEEZ that came from the Wonderland dimension, and “HALATEEZ” is the name for ATEEZ that came from Strictland, the dystopian dimension.
Answer: is the one I have most trouble to understand deeply to be honest, but what I know is that this is a big battle against those giant androids (white masked guys) which I explained above… and ATEEZ from both dimensions fight together. Observation: for this performance, they invited a group of opera singers called La Poem and managed to mix an opera song and singers to their energetic pop song??? That is honestly chef kiss from me 💋And for Wonderland, Hongjoong had the idea to mix Sympony N9 (I don’t remember the original artist 😭) to their song also, and it sounds epic in the end. Hongjoong is genius I swear
I think this is the basics? 😭😭😭
Ooh if she’s a rock fan the new Japanese album (May 25th) might be up her street, from what we’ve been told it’s Rocky as the title track but with some added elements (there’s a new song too but we don’t know anything about it )
Oh and it’s the perfect time to upload this, I’m pretty sure today is the 1 year anniversary of the wonderland performance airing
She may not like skz but i wanna see her reaction to their kingdom performances bc compared to ateez the dance and everything is so much more intense
Really enjoyed the interaction between you & your friend! It’s fun & interesting to hear from a non-Kpop fan’s perspective😄
Thanks for the reacts and introducing them to your friend. Wonderland is an anthem song. For Kingdom Ateez couldn't go on the show and just do normal performances. You won't see them turning flips nor all the fighting during normal performances, this was a competition so it required more theatrics. Now Ateez are theatrical in performances already with their expressions but not always as aggressive. Answer isn't an aggressive song at all if she watched the music video. The same was done with their Wave song. Wave is a happy, cheerful song yet for this competition it was turned into an aggressive song. Black Cat Nero is rock vibe. Also, Ateez Stay cover is rock. She may like those.
Your friend is such a mood, i luv her so much already.
I recommend Black Cat Nero and their cover of Stay since they're both rock. Turbulence has softer raps and highlights vocals as do Promise and A
Not Too Late. Wave shows a different side of them. Also, she might like the original version of Answer better since it's less aggressive.
There's a rookie group whose title tracks remind me of Queen. Their name is Kingdom. You might try their debut Excalibur or Karma. Each member"s stage name comes from a different kingdom like Arthur and Louis.
Fun fact the first season of the show was called Queendom. The current season (this week episode 3 will air) is Queendom 2.
Look at you explaining storylines and everything! Well done😄
This is a bit similar to how me introducing ATEEZ' (and some others') to my mother went – the music isn't necessarily for her but she likes the storytelling elements their performances have.
(I'm pretty close to my 30s but I do absolutely know KISS, though while I like some rock and metal they aren't really my thing)
Thanks for reacting to ATEEZ but I think your friend should'va appreciate the song more if you guys had paused the video when you guys have smthng to comment about.
17:53 it doesn't sound out of place tho. You guys didn't even properly heard and watched the performance so when the melody changed, you guys thought it was out of place. This is why it's important to pause the video if you have smthng to say bcoz in the end, reactors don't understand the performance.
Again, this reaction would be better if it wasn't dominated by chitchatting.
Fun to watch non-kpop fans getting to see stages and performance from Ateez. But the last part about Kiss and tongues and all that, I think, if you haven't already, you should watch Ateez interview with Jessi…
Oh I am loving your videos of you showing your friend the world of Kpop! I always love seeing new reactions from people who are just discovering it! These were legendary Ateez performances and I am glad you got to show them to her!
Side note – Monsta X has a comeback coming up in a week and would love to see you react to some of their stuff if possible. They are a group I think you would love! Their discography is insane. 🙂
Love your video. Ateez was so good at Kingdom. Every performance was a bop
If she’s more into ROCK then she needs to react to Seventeen – Rock with you MV … LOL 😂 (see what I did there?)
I almost forgot that was when MINGI couldn’t be present because he was still mentally recovery from high anxiety issue.
For your friend since she's a rock fan i think Happy Death Day by Xdinary Heroes would be more her taste idk. It's very alt rock-esque and i think she'd enjoy the MV too 🙂
You guys should react to victon if you haven't already is a very under rated group but i think you'll like them
