Having now played Kingdom Hearts 1 and Re:CoM, I can certainly call myself a fan of this series. I am beyond excited to now be playing Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix, as many of my friends and viewers have told me that this is their favorite entry. I will not make any definitive statements like that until I complete it, but if my first recording session is anything to go by, I am certain I will love this game!

It's time…. 😭
"It's Riku alright" How dare you do my boy Roxas dirty like that! I know it's been a while but you haven't had many protagonist dual wield keyblades so far !
The music is called "The other promise " and is considered as Roxas's theme
I always thought the meaning of this scene was pretty deep, Roxas attacking Sora with Oblivion first (since Sora "forgot" everything about him ). And then he also uses Oathkeeper (the true meaning of this combo will be more clear once you've finished another entry)
Oh it’s “this” episode 👀
By the way if you just go through the main story you are pretty close to the end of the game
That fight is 1,00,000,000 times harder on the hardest difficulty and is one of the toughest boss fights in all of kingdom hearts. Unfortunately I believe someone has found a way to cheese it now :/
Also, not sure about axel and roxas being gay. Two men can be close and cry for each other without it being like that. Axel never had a friend or someone care for him before roxas. The three friends care for each other and even at the end Axel is confused if he has a heart or not because he cares for his friends. This is where I think his confusion and emotions come from. Idk just me.
Speaking of grinding heartless, if you see big mobs be sure to try out the Magnega+Thundaga combo. It's still my personal favorite.
Final Form is so much fun!
I don't know if you rewatch your own videos, but after some games it could be fun to watch certain scenes with new context.
btw, I know there is a LOT of information and lore going on, but, don't worry, 'cause when you reach Kingdom Hearts 3 it has long summaries for EVERY game of the series [except mobile ones, but you'll get there (and yes, you need to get there)]
Yeah, no, that's not Riku……
Fun fact: this fight was not in the original KH2 release- players only saw the cutscene at the end.
Oh good, you figured it out. Remember, these are the two Keyblades he summoned for his final fight with Axel, too.
YES! This track is called "The Other Promise" and is a favorite of many, myself included. (As for what it refers to……Well, you'll just have to wait and see.)
Wow, this fight goes a LOT faster on standard mode.
You will find out some of the lore behind how people are chosen to become wielders in a few games. It's really cool how they choose to go about revealing it.
I love and hate this scene of them on the clocktower so much! I love it because, well, it's beautiful and shows the bond they share much better than anything anyone else told us about it. And I hate it because of…..spoilers. 😛
IT'S THE DAMN TRUCK!!!!
Ngl, I burst out laughing over your initial miss of getting Final Form. But yes, this is totally missable if you don't equip this Keyblade and keep using Drive Forms (I did send you a message about it a bit ago)……And at this point you probably should take Two Become One off base Sora, because as long as you have it equipped you will ONLY turn into either Final Form or Anti-Sora.
Aw, I'm kinda sad you were told what to do regarding Final Form, I was really looking forward to your reaction upon stumbling upon it XD
The Roxas fight always gets me. "The Other Promise" is such a good song, and it fits so well with the fight and the feels. Roxas is such a tragic character, I love him. Also, thank you again for reading the Ansem Reports!
So, um, someone please tell me if this would be a spoiler because it's kinda bugging me…
Would it be bad to tell him that there aren't enough Orichalcum+ items in the game to make the Ultima Weapon without using the extra ingredient that halves ingredient costs? Mind you it's not 'not being able to tell him' that's bugging me, it's not knowing if I should say something or not at this point.
10:53 Yes Riku with his TWO Keyblades fighting you in Sora's soul space. Yep, totally Riku.
18:41 There not.
Two Becomes One only allows you to become two forms Anit Form and Final Form. Final Form is the most powerful Drive Form in the game. How Two Becomes One works is it will no matter what form you pick (except Final Form) will randomly send you into either Anti Form or Final Form which is how you unlock Final Form.
I guess its a hint but not much of one.
When you are initially at Yen Sid's tower, the mirrors all represent the different forms. If you interact with them you get hints at each one as well.
Way to beat Roxas in one go! I was not aware of the battle when i first played the final mix version because I first played the original on ps2. Needless to say I brought my A game on my critical run I was doing and got payback for the several, several defeats he handed me the first time around.
Side note, if you start training your forms there are abilities, and keyblades, that you can equip to make the forms last longer. Can't wait for the next episode. Like Roxas, enjoy your summer vacation!
that title…. now i have the Avril Lavigne song with the same name stuck in my head again….
its a good song so im totaly fine with that
the wise man grinds his drives smarter not harder
good job
Heh… "Nobody's home"
11:32 Somewhat… however, This was 15's predecessor, not it's successor. It was 15 that recycled the ideas from here. So FFXV is KHII, not KHII is FFXV.
Roxas is back?! So we get back to playing as the main character at last?!?
I've been wondering since you started Kingdom Hearts 2, do you plan on starting the PS4 version of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, after finishing this, or emulate the DS version? Most let's players seem to emulate the DS version instead, but I personally find the PS4 version to be far better mainly cause the feels an all are much stronger instead of seeing and reading just about everything with DS graphics. I get it that with the DS version a bit more things are explained, but I still find the PS4 version to be much better. Oh yeah if you do plan on starting the PS4 version, there's a free DLC for it that you should download for an extra scene near the end.
Good job beating Roxas on your first try. This fight was created for Final Mix as one of the Absent Silhouettes but Nomura decided change it to a story boss last minute while forgetting to rebalance. Since most blind players don't try Absent Silhouettes after their first 5 second attempts they end up woefully unprepared for Roxas.
Also, the music here is Roxas' Theme which we discussed here before. That would normally be the biggest giveaway of the boss' identity as soon as the fight started. (along with the voice and keyblades)
14:54 He's not making a statement. He's describing how Roxas feels at that moment as a newborn Nobody.
