I remember they had this in Cod Ghosts whenever you were best to a wall but they removed it after that game

Idk, it’s pretty useless when you use the leaning buttons in Trearch’s Cod zombie games on pc.
This feature could cause a funny bug in BO1, if you lean left or right and knife with the Bowie Knife or Sickle at the same time, you kill yourself. I have no idea why this happens, nor what could cause it, but yeah. This could be a problem with the Knives's hit detection (which we know throughout CoD history it's shit)

I had no idea you could do that on those games on pc, I wish I could lean on PS3. But it does make sense, I believe leaning has been in cod sense the first one, but I didn't know it was a pc exclusive.
I remember in Call of Duty 2: Big Red 1 on GameCube, you can also lean. I think that’s the only console version that had leaning.
How does this look on 3rd person or like playing with someone else?
It's really useful when checking the elevators in Die Rise, rather than inching towards the edge and risking everything.

plot twist: content creators on pc use this all the time when showcasing glitches – "stand right here and aim at this spot" when really, they're standing 0.02 meters to the left of it and leaning right to fool you.
If this lean option was truly on WaW & bo2 on the Xbox I would of used it none stop to help myself.
And no it's not useless on zombies. I already can think of a couple ways it can help me.
