  1. When it comes to people making up rules and BS with well practiced, absolute confidence and arrogance there appears to be a strong common theme.

  2. Rather than being proud to showcase the University campus they take the opposite course and use their feelings to hinder you portraying them in a good light. I find this terribly sad. The late great Desmond Morris would have had a field day with the body language on display. The last lady you spoke to being a prime example – eyes closed when stating facts, hands clasped in a prayer pose, very economical with the truth. Allons-y Mr Outings we want more.

  3. A fantastic video Chris. I have lived Newcastle for over 40 years and didn’t know we had such beautiful architecture on our doorstep. Mind I think the university need to get up to speed with their policies. If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t know these places were here. Thank you

  5. I thought you had decided some months ago to avoid confrontational videos but you still seem to enjoy a bit of passive aggression to wind up your ill-informed subjects. Why don’t you just make a documentary. You talk too much.

  6. Over all what a great set of reception workers, very professional.
Absolutely typical infuriating authoritarian incorrect nonsense from the entitled types at the University. Very poor grasp on reality from these anti freedom educational establishments.

  7. One of your best (mebe the best) videos to date. The site helps – being photogenic (!) with a huge amount of (strange) shapes – but then it is a University…
I give it 5+. Carry on the good work.

  8. The university's are never short of money for grandiose projects. It is extremely simple to understand how they can aford to do this. They charge their students the earth and then skimp on their education.
To them looking good, ticking boxes and indoctrination is paramount. Education is at very best a incidental and only occasional side effect of their existence.

  9. Well done, a great video, shows you that no matter how smart you "think you are" You can speak rubbish. No, it's not a public building and you can't be here unless (and states reasons you CAN be there) which allowed almost any reason to access "public spaces" And the guy started strong and I think he started to see the holes in his argument. And the building manager again talked but never applied any common sense. I am guessing the place has many many cameras that record members of the public AND staff without asking permission? Their general waiver is a sign saying CCTV is in operation, but in many places, they "forget" to inform visitors that they are being recorded. Many universities /shopping malls track cell phones as a matter of normal procedure. (they used to have notices up but many removed them or simply never said.)

  10. As ever, excellent, interesting, informative and entertaining contribution to our nations historical archive. I've never been a massive fan of modern architecture (you should see some of the garbage we have had inflicted on us here is Stoke!) BUT, The Helix does have some very impressive structures, especially on the insides. Thanks for sharing and broadening my horizons Crispy; inspiring, simply inspiring. Cheers πŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸ‘

  11. I can’t keep up with the constant development and changes in Newcastle but I would imagine this new development is on the site of the old Newcastle Breweries where Newcastle Brown Ale used to be brewed.

  13. It never ceases to amaze me (well actually I am lying to myself there, because it does not amaze me at all) that there is so much ignorance in a place of higher learning. Do better people.

  14. Wow! I am not a fan of modern architecture but wow! They are beautiful inside and out and with green roofs and solar panels too. I love the outside spaces and greenery. Students would be lucky to get in here.
Not as lucky as getting into Cambridge though, which is a stunning place (I'm biased as I live in Cambridgeshire) but it looks lovely place.
