Awesome story……
By definition, hammers can't be "slicing through bodies with each swing". That's just not how hammers work. Axes, swords, polearms… I could even imagine a spear working that way, if somehow wielded by an alien with a speed and strength much higher than possible by a human. But not a warhammer.
