No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure survival game played from a first or third person perspective that allows players to engage in five principal activities: exploration, survival, combat, trading and base building. The player takes the role of a specimen of alien humanoid planetary explorer, known in-game as the Traveller, in an uncharted universe. They start on a randomized planet near a crashed spacecraft towards the edge of the galaxy and are equipped with a survival exosuit with a jetpack, and a “multitool” that can be used to scan, mine and collect resources as well as to attack or defend oneself from creatures and hostile forces. The player can collect, repair, and refuel the craft, allowing them to travel about the planet, between other planets and space stations in the local planetary system, engage in space combat with alien factions, or make hyperspace jumps to other star systems. While the game is open-ended, the player may follow the guidance of the entity known as The Atlas to head toward the centre of the galaxy.

Fishing vr cool
Loving the additions. Expedition is wonderful!
Your description makes me want a vr headset 😄
Giving you a like and skipping yo the end so you hopefully get credit for a viewing. But not watching. Just reading "fishing in vr" almost gave me motion sickness and I don't even get motion sick. 😂 can't handle vr nms.
aquarius review
Yeah seems the same as PSVR2. Well done on the S Class!
I see fishing as being nothing more than an amuse bouche between the dinner courses of Worlds Part I and Part II.
My Captain – I don't think HG had a significant plan for fishing except to give you a use for the new water and depth. Also, while not everyone is into fishing, there is now something else to do on a new world in addition to counting fauna.
Just another thing for people to do – an example is that I see little interest in racing, huge building projects, etc. but, others do. Something for everyone.
Catching the Skiff Live Well menu is even trickier in high water (VR or not). I didn't really need it though. With a big storage Living Ship and the Matter Teleporter on the Freighter with hundreds of slots, it was never really needed for me.
I love this addition. Also, it takes some experimentation, but you can find some outstanding bait options from just cooking individual fish (hint: look for the ones that will coop up as bits not filets) that work better than the bionic bait for landing some serious unites earning fish! There's definitely a difference from one planet to the other so far as what you're going to get. It might just be down to temperature of the water, I'm not sure, but I do know I never have gotten some of the rare on some planets, while I can on others. LOTS of fun that I haven't found the end of on the cooking 🙂 I kind of hope they keep adding species and recipes – it would be an easy way to add a ton of content with little effort every so often!
Im not a fan of this one, but that's just me, I generally don't like fishing in any game lol Im also burned out on the expeditions! But the Water update before this was one of the best ever!
As my first Expedition, it was perfect to get my feet wet with 😁. I did a second run with a 2nd character I had just recently started, she hadn't even made it to the Anomaly yet, so once I got there, immediately put in a lot of fuel, and things I knew I would need, and started off. It went faster up to the need the storm fish. That was the last milestone I needed and it literally took 4 to 5 hrs. The storms were like 30 to 40mins apart. I get to a planet as it was storming but by the time I landed and started fishing I was lucky to get maybe 2 fish and not the ones I needed. I even crafted like 60 Mag lures, and still took another hour or so to catch the fish I needed. After that I just had to finish up the final part and did that while I was doing the storm fishing LOL! Got the legendary, the message in the bottle all in one shot.
Im doing the entire expedition in VR!!
I have a Linux PC. In VR no sound. After seeing this video I am encouraged to take the time to figure out how to fix sound for my Valve Index!
I always use vr it's brilliant
I think fishing in NMS is done in a way that is different from other games that have included fishing as a side mini game. I finished the Aquarius expedition took time to see how filled out my fish catching was and surprised to see quite a long list of fish I have yet to catch. The message in bottle with locations was a mild let down when discovering the locations appear to be those of the expedition. It would have been better had they given us locations to different areas to explore. It remains to be seen what this message in a bottle function will really be outside the expedition? Also what will happen when deeper seas / oceans come to NMS? It's kind of like searching for a new ship just because it's cool so fishing is more so a side feature to exploring where you stumble onto some distant planet, find yourself on planet surface see water and say ok I wonder what kind of fish I can catch? Does this catch on to others not interested in fishing? Probably not. It's just something more to do in a game with alot to do if you want to do it but none of it really required. A sandbox in which most of the game is built around you finding your own fun thing to do.
I still hope there is more in the way of danger coming to the game like maybe regions of the galaxies are more dangerous to traverse than others, warning systems of some kind telling you with the proper tech installed OR you just find out by going there. Things ripped from modern day headlines maybe like being trapped on a planet because your ship was stolen by a pirate. But all is not lost you installed a tracking beacon on your ship, you hunt down the pirate to get your ship back but the events to that is some arduous road of either finding a crashed ship or building a 3-D printer and building a ship to forge a new path. Maybe in the form of a 1 time use rocket to jump to a nearby planet, so many things more could go wrong with breaking the next planets atmosphere. Finding your ship is only half the battle you need to catch the pirate in a mind arc and bring him to justice! Imagine an abduction beam upgrade to your "runik" multitool or staff for that matter. Maybe a secret tech upgrade that requires a trident key to unlock.
I think at some point they upgrade the planetary systems to maybe a level of 1 to 10 in terms of dangerous or not dangerous. This would just coincide with choices for the traveller to go there or not. Whether we see this kind of implementation is hard to fathom for an 8 year old game, but we've been blown away before. Given they likely spent alot of time upgrading water, then add fishing on top of and that suggests deeper oceans maybe sub addition, whales and more who knows?
Nice one Cap't…. Have you seen that fishing glitch that's happened? If you build a small base with glass walls & floor, you can cast straight through them, so if you are on a bad planet, eg. Frozen, toxic, you can fish with no worries about having to keep topping up your hazmat…. Awesome…
I don't know if the skif is more stable in a normal save but in the expo I had to do all my fishing from the ship. I only play in VR. Over 4000 hrs.
I noticed that you are also getting the red ring on your controller when you use the right contoller to do anything I had to condition myself to use my left controller to start.
