  1. Re the matting and lack of them grooming each other, I wonder if they are just depressed from their living situation? I do hope their owner is okay and able to take care of them and their living situation is a good one (for both them and the owner).

  2. My kitty back home looks like Lucifer. It's really hard to keep her fur in a manageable condition. She has chronic respiratory issues, and I don't think she can groom herself very well. Though she tries. Kinda she almost creates some of the matting herself

  3. My sweet shitzu got very matted when he was sick. He had horrible back pain and then pancreatitis. We were looking at quality of life and grooming was a low priority. I was hand feeding him and giving him water from a syringe. When he fibally recovered and we found a medicine which controlled his pain I called the groomer. She was so kind to me. Got him right in and took great care of him. She understood that I wasn't putting him through a grooming when he was in such bad medical shape.

  4. They were both very good. When you shaved their backs, they both had the look of KITTY ecstasy on their faces, and nirvana was close at hand when you scratched them after the shave. All in all, three solid tens!

  5. When all the news seems sad and dark and unrelenting, I come here to watch you. Your loving tone of voice, your understanding of how even the greatest animal lover can become overwhelmed by the more unfortunate chapters of life. All the knowledge and honesty you share, your patience and kindness makes my heart do a little dance and renew some sense of hope in spite of what feels like constant and stifling global chaos. I visit your channel like I would seek a place to meditate. Bless you for all the joy you bring to owners and viewers.🌞💖

  6. I desperately need to bathe my two outdoor farm cats and I am terrified. The winter has been rough on their coats. I am definitely going to have to suit up… I may get one of those hoodies!

  7. My long-haired cat was never very flexible and she always had trouble grooming the same places that Lucifer had severe matting, it was always our job to take care of those places completely and she helped out every place else. This combo worked very well until she developed arthritis as an old lady.

  8. Vanessa, one of the reasons why I absolutely love this channel, is your absolute kindness to all. Your reminders to not rush to judgement and to be kind are a breath of fresh air on these sites. Sometimes life happens, and you got to roll with the punches. Absolutely you ought to do the best for everyone, and that’s why they are coming to get their much needed groom. I remember back when I was living with my partner (we are still together), there were a couple of neighborhood cats who came up to me all of the time begging for attention and most importantly snacks. One day I saw they had mats, so when I went out I bought some treats and scissors. I can back and did what I could to help. I don’t know if they are someone else’s or not, but they needed a bit of help. I hope that people find it in their hearts to do these little acts of kindness, even if it’s just to help them world become a kinder place. There’s too much hate in this world. I feel that we should always try our best to help keep animals and their owners together, with reasonable limitations obviously. But the bond between human and pet is sacred in a way that cannot be matched, and can instead bring out the better parts of the human and to help heal. Also as an adoptee, I can see how animals can have issues if they are rehomed too many times, and there’s really not enough homes right now for all of these babies. If we make it possible keep some of these homes available it’s a much better option.

  9. often pets will get depressed when an owner has a long term/terminal illness, or when the family is in crisis for some other reason; depressed cats will hunker down and 'hibernate'. Best of luck George and Lucifer and bless you Vanessa.

  10. Lucifer is precious. George did extremely well. I feel so bad for these kitties but understand their lack of care due to the owners health issues. I'm very happy to know that they must feel soooo much better.

  11. I rarely write comments. or subscribe. I am an animal Advokat all my life and that is very long. Im a professional, certified dog trainer from Germany. And I am telling you now the way you treat the cats and dogs is beyond everything I saw before. You are amazing I don't find the words in english how much I am impressed by you. You speak comforting and the cats or dogs right away bond with you. Every time the owners told you, the cats don't like that, the dogs don't like that and from what I saw every time you had no problem.
I don't understand why people still tell you, why don't you do it this way or that way. Don't they see what you do is working ?
From me you get the "best Groomer and Therapist" award. You are amazing Girl. I learned from you a lot.
Thank you for reading my far to long comment. I will recommend you to my animal friends.

  12. Male cats are often not the best at grooming themselves, nor are they typically interested in grooming other cats. Females are generally the reliable groomers in a cat herd. I have a couple of shorthair guys that barely clean their poopy tooshies, much less expend a lot of effort in grooming their entire body. I think its a guy thing. 😂

  13. People need to remember whatever happened before the animal is now here getting the help it needs. Don’t shame folks for getting help even if they should have done better beforehand.
