Nissan is handing out CASH to its dealers to get rid of excess inventory. Dealers can’t sell what they already have. Here’s what’s happening.

  1. My wife had a 2015 Nissan Altima and the ac system broke at 18,000 miles with one month over 36 month warranty. She traded that car for a Lexus ES 350 and immediately traded her 2015 Pathfinder for a Lexus RX350L. We will never buy Nissan vehicles!

  2. 13:37 – The 3-cylinder turbo + the CVT reputation + the Nissan resale woes = the asking price is just too high.

Nissan in 2024 is essentially Hyundai of 1994. They simply do not have a good reputation and cannot demand the asking price of the Toyota or Honda counterpart. They're gonna have to come to acceptance on that.

  3. Here in Canada, Nissan scrapped all the base models of the Frontier this year which included the last extended cab (6ft bed) mid size pickup readily available in the country. Now the base price makes (pro 4x) makes it the most expensive base mid size in the country. Seems like such a backwards move when they need to be focusing on value and affordability

  4. It still boils down to will Greedy Dealers give up incentive to move inventory? Or do they still rape customers at full MSRP plus. Nissan reputation of reliability; also a huge hurdle to cross.

  5. I was on a Nissan lot looking to get into a Frontier. I was on the lot 45 minutes plus and not one sales man approached me, and they can’t figure out why they can’t sale a car it’s called customer service.

  6. The problem with Nissan is Nissan North America is untrustworthy and their dealerships service departments are very untrustworthy and often s am their customers… I love my Q50s but I'll never buy another Nissan product because of their untrustworthy nature.

  7. Its so hard to believe because I recently went to buy a new Frontier and despite arriving at opening I still had to wait in line to make the purchase. The line to get in the finance office was hours long and they were running 2 finance offices. They actually told us to just take the truck and go have lunch we had like 6 people ahead of us.
I will say my wife also recently got a new acura integra and we also had to wait in line for 3 hours to get in the finance office and it was a cash deal.

  8. I feel like the big problem with Nissan is the people they sell to. They’ll sell to the person with a 430 credit score that Honda and Toyota won’t touch and the person in that situation isn’t going to do preventative maintenance let alone make the car payments on time. I wouldn’t want their CVT, but it should last 150-200k miles if you change the transmission fluid every 30k miles.

  9. Jeep Toledo Ohio did a similar thing in the mid1980s. Big discounts but.buyers had to pick up their Jeeps at the Toledo factory. My local Nissan Dealer still Has market adjustments on select models and no Altimas in stock. So he's doing ok.

  10. Dealership refusing incentives, yet there are many end-consumers who would love to buy new vehicles with "No markup, No Dealer add-on, No/very low cost extended warranty, no glass and tire protection, $3000 customer cash incentive to cover the sales tax and DMV fees, and 0.99% APR finance for 60 mo, No BS from sales, and No BS from finance. So that we can just go in get things done and get out within 2 hours."

  11. Cherry picking the highly discounted Rogues. But that is OK, this is entertaining. San Antonio dealers also have oversupply, but the have not discounted $8 to 10k off sticker on 2023 Rogue S models as yet.

  12. Nissan needs to cut their inventory again and model lineup .. If I was the North America chairman this is what I would do:

    Cars:
Versa – SV, & SR or (keep the S and have them add on options to that model hence cutting the SV)

    Sentra – SV, & SR

Altima – SR, SL, SR- VC Turbo

Maxima (If They had still continued making them) – SR, & Platinum

    SUV:
Kicks – SV, & SR or again (keep the S and have them add on options to that model hence cutting the SV)

    Rogue – SV & SL

    Murano – SL

Pathfinder – SV, SL, Platinum, & Rock Creek

    Armada – SL, & Platinum

    Trucks:
Frontier – SL, Pro 4X, & Rock Creek / Sahara or whatever (configured in Crew Cab, Single Cab, or King Cab)

Titan – Again (If They had still continued making them) – Platinum, & Pro 4X and Again (configured in Crew Cab, Single Cab, or King Cab)

    Sports/ Performance Cars:
Z – Performance, NISMO, & Heritage/ Special Editions (whenever they arrive)

    GTR – Performance, & NISMO

    Electric Cars:
Ayria – Evolve, Empower, ( Single Motor “FWD”) Platinum (Dual Motor E-Force AWD or FWD)

Leaf (which might be discontinued soon) – SV & SL

Thats how I would have done it and safe the company money resources and be efficient while being of quality

  13. I don't know, maybe if Nissan would stop dealers from charging 4k for mandatory protection packages and then add 2k in dealer fees on top of that for a 22k car, it might actually help get cars off the lot. Insane that a 22k new car turns into 28k after taxes and fees, and then on top of that you pay like 9% in interest. Sounds like a WOMP WOMP for the dealers rn. So stupid to me now that dealers have so many cars on the lot they can't sell but still refuse to negotiate prices down at all.
