  1. Looking forward to the livestream in asakusa tomorrow, wondering if you find any tourists 😅 also i hope your comment about tourist opening is wrong, i want to come in october, but it‘s looking really bad so far. If your assumptions about regional reopening is true, i cant come then 🙁 (i‘m from europe)

  2. You're right John, a lot of the buildings have changed and that is just from my visit in 2019. This stream made me very nostalgic to go back.

  3. One thing didn't like Roppongi area due to their ugly bypass ( crossing) structure, totally blocked the view in prime business area. Too many night clubs, easy to spot many drunken businessman and women around last night hours. Will avoid that area whenever in Tokyo! Not really pleasant neighborhood. 😧🧐

  4. John just got my visa to visit my fiancée in Japan haven’t seen her since 2019, the paperwork to get in was absolutely ridiculous. Coming in November and have to complete spouse visa while I’m there btw the paperwork was absolutely ridiculous

  5. I commented before you mentioned Lex, I remember we went there one night back in 02 I think it was and Fred Durst was there. Dude was drunk as all get out and acting a fool. Long story short he was making moves on my Sgt's girl and he told him to cut it out. "Do you know who I am, I'm Limp Bizkit!" Sgt told him he didn't care and to leave his girl alone. He did it again and Sgt laid him out in one shot. We got kicked out. Oh well onto Club 99 Gaspanic

  6. The biggest difference from the last time I was in Roppongi about 5 years ago is that the electrical lines are gone. Which is not a surprise because they were starting work on the lines going underground when I was there. I remember Johnny Rockets from back in the 90's. Overall Roppongi really didn't change that much. As you said, even with changes, Tokyo is still Tokyo and that includes Roppongi. For me the biggest change from my time in Japan back in the 90's is Roppongi Hills. I went to several of the clubs in the area and the Hard Rock many times in the 90s, but my last time in Japan I went to the one in Ueno and Yokohama. Donki was new to me the last trip. I don't remember them in the 90s. My go to was Daiei back then. My favorite walk on a day off when the weather was nice was from Tokyo Tower to Roppongi Station. I noticed some changes but again, it still felt familiar and comforting to me to take that walk again. I am really hoping to have another chance to visit Japan (or just move there).
