  2. Paul Gale's statement tells us nothing. It lacks any quantifiable information. e.g. one parallel release or one port would make this statement valid. Its the easiest prediction to make and frankly you could have said the same thing about Wii U or Switch before they released.

  3. So ok first off I would say I disagree that this year is abysmal, I truly don’t think that. This last year is still getting bangers. Has it slowed yea for sure but they didn’t just stop lol. Two I truly think that if switch 2 is a big upgrade with better remotes and at least an 8 to 9 inch screen. Then 4k for the tv for me that is all I’m asking for. Then we get a new Mario kart, Mario odyssey, just more Mario 3d land type stuff. And I’m all for it. Just hope they don’t do a 3d switch that would be not a good idea personally in my opinion. I think we need to stop wanting it to be over the top when ps and Xbox literally drop in the way you described the new phone model right and people buy every time lol. So I think the switch 2 should just want a better remote, bigger hopefully and bigger screen, with better graphics. But yea I want better upgrades with the same success of what made this system work instead of Nintendo way over doing it and missing the mark of what made them so successful.

  4. Not knocking Wood, love the podcast, and everyone else is doing the same but can we kindly stop referencing this game being BotW/TotK it mostly isn't as a lot of these things were done in prior Zelda games.

Why everyone keeps says its like Ultrahand but it doesn't allow you to do the biggest thing Ultrahand could do, build stuff, is beyond me. Its closer to magnesis in that ALL it does is allow you to move objects but then it has reverse bind which is nothing like anything in either BotW or TotK.

Reverse bind itself is an extension of summoning multiple links in Four Swords/Four Swords Adventure.

Waypounts have always existed in topdown Zeldas. But without quests the game only gave you dungeon waypoints…. But in ALBW you could set a waypoint on the map too.

Horses did exist in Four Swords Adventures.

Sea and River Zora existed together in one of the Oracle games.

Exploring a world in different orders was something you could do in Zelda 1, partly could do in ALTTP and ALBW.

I just wish more people would appreciate things for what they are and spend less time emphasising how this is from [INSERT GAME]. The only reason I did it here is because I'm trying to make a point that ideas are iterative, not solely from one product in a 35 year older series.

  5. One thing in the Zelda trailer that no one seems to have noticed: Zelda uses her wand to get rid of the Mole from the Mole Hole after she summons it. Does this mean she has a sword-like attack the wand can do? Otherwise what happened to the Mole in that scene?

  6. Switch sales haven't slowed down as much as expected. Sell-through has remained steady and every year there are more playing users. Why wouldn't they wait untill december to see what the sales do?

  7. I don’t think Furukawa ever said anything about the switch 2 releasing within the fiscal year. Just that it would be revealed within the fiscal year. But if anyone has a source saying otherwise, feel free to share.
