  1. I work in supply chain and have some data on athleisure footwear: the only sneakers that seem to be moving well (in comparison to numbers produced) are some of the high tech running shoes with advanced foams and the traditional hypebeast models in the most sought after colorways. One big challenge is now getting these models moving in their own unique supply chains, rather than being "thrown in" with other, less desirable models along the chain. There's a huge backlog of "bread and butter" SKUs at various Supply Chain chokepoints, and even some of the previously highly desired models of Jordan 1,23 11 etc sit on shelves at the final retail point. Jordan 11 Cherry Reds, which a few years ago would have sold out in hours even in a large production run, are still sitting in many Footlocker stores worldwide over 3 weeks after release.

  2. Nike needs to start making better color ways and stop worrying about accidentally repeating an already utilized color way. I switched to Under Armour for this year, first time giving them a shot. Nike seems afraid of progress. Look at air max 90’s current color ways compared to their color ways a decade ago. Day & night difference. I don’t like Adidas so that leaves me with Under Armour, New Balance, and Puma as options.
