Nikah is a powerful and inspiring story of a young girl’s fight for her social and religious rights.
Opinionated and confident by nature, Anusha is a beautiful young girl who knows how to stand up for her rights. After losing her mother at a young age, Anusha has been brought up by her aunt, Umaima with a lot of love and care. Umamia is a bit hesitant about Anusha’s assertiveness and often makes her understand.
Class fellows and best friends, Anusha and Haris are in love with each other and soon plan to marry. On the contrary, Hamdaan is a handsome young man who belongs to a wealthy family and is the only son of his father. He falls in love with Anusha on his very first meeting with her however is respectful of Anusha’s choices.
Anusha’s hope and dreams come crashing down when Haris challenges her thoughts. The supposedly liberal fabric of Haris and his family is exposed when Anusha takes a stand for her rights. After losing everything, will Anusha stay true to herself and fight against all odds? Despite everything, will Anusha realize her true admirer and supporter in form of Hamdaan?

Every day Farooq proves he is just a parha likha jahil meaning he is educated but still a jahil at heart. First he hates Anusha for claiming her rights as a bride. Then he accuses her of seducing his son. Then he ids to Umaima and hides what he did. Now he is trying to control Yusra as if she is an object, not a baligh human with rights.
According to Farooq, Yusra is naive (na-samaj) to choose who she wants to marry. But then she is also na-samaj to marry! Every drama takes away children's rights to choose their own life partner and instead parents think its parents right and decision. It is the children's decision!
Haris mother forces Haris to live and marry according to her choice. Farooq forcing Yusra to marry and live according to his choice.
It is the parents who misguided and wrong. When will this culture of forced marriages stop? Islam gives baligh/adult children right to choose and decide.
Somebody tell Farooq, daughters are not property to be controlled or owned. They are free individuals and humans with rights and agenchy.
Yusra is rebelious, rude and arrogant, but what she said to Farooq, about her right to live her life and marry who she likes is not wrong. These are her rights in islam and under law.
Somebody tell Haris mother, that Haris is not her substitute husband. If she wants a shaadi so badly she can find a suitable man and marry him. The maybe Haris can live his own life.
It is amazing that Anoushas neighbor is standing right there and watching Anousha and Hamdan. But Anousha is blind. Such gossiping women will pay in Akhirah.
Hamdan is a real hyoicrait. He was angry when Yusra spoke to Nadeem in a public gathering but lovetruck Hamdan goes to visit and talk to Anousha alone… What?
Stop showing its OK for boys but not for girls. In Islam its not OK for both.
If Hamdan cared about Anousha he would not risk her reputation by going to visit her at her house. He knows very well in 🇵🇰 this is not liked. Now Anoushas neighbor will gossip and start bad rumors about Anousha that she is immoral, has bf, is free=shameless woman etc. Such is the culture of 🇵🇰.
Farooq knows he treated Anousha wrong. Yet still look at his takabur. It's increasing. He is fishing for information from Umaima and keeps calling Anousha khudsar (stubborn arrogant) but he is describing himself. He hates Anousha because she is a strong woman who knows her rights and he wants to control women.
