NFL Reaction: Jim Harbaugh's mind games, Deion Sanders issues, Aaron Rodgers washed? | Colin Cowherd

Colin Cowherd and ‘3 & Out’ host John Middlekauff discuss the biggest stories from around the NFL. Is there more to Jim Harbaugh’s heavy praise for J.J. McCarthy than their Michigan connection? Will Brian Daboll and the New York Giants or Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos draft a quarterback in the NFL Draft? And is Deion Sanders putting too much pressure on his son following his recent comments about Shedeur Sanders and the NFL Draft? Later, Colin and John discuss if Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are NFL Playoff contenders, the Shohei Ohtani gambling allegations, and whether Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are in for a disappointing season in 2024.

  1. I'll always be the clear head for the dolphins. Tua is fine. Paying him like an ELITE qb might not be good but he's in the 90% percentile of his peers. Also, the contract for Wilkins wasn't worth it. Vangio is ancient while the players are young. Did you see Vangios play calling against the titans that allowed 2 Tds in a minute?
The guy stayed up past his bedtime. The dolphins will be even better. Also, Wilkins has a tendency of friendly fire. That matters.

  2. Love the podcast but this is absolute rubbish about the Chargers. The Ravens have taken 3 first round WRs since 2019 (Hurst a TE in the first round in 2018), haven't taken a offensive lineman in round 1 since 2016 and usually operate on a BPA principle in their drafts. In the 4 years that Harbaugh was in SF, they took 0 offensive lineman in round 1 (meanwhile took a WR and 2 DBs). Clearly the staff want to be more physical but this idea that they'd rather go OT in round 1 than WR isn't based on facts. Sure if they trade down, get an extra first this year then I could see an OT in round 1. But if they have to stick and pick at 5, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be happy taking MHJ/Nabers/Odunze. We don't even have a WR2 on the team, nevermind a WR1

  3. re: Ohtani… if he has significant debts to a BOOKIE, it doesn't matter what sport he's betting on. It still sets up the potential for throwing a game to alleviate debts. Also, what bookie allows an interpreter to amass a $4.5 million debt? This situation is very problematic, even if you think Ohtani's wealth makes him immune to normal scrutiny.

  4. the dolphins lost a DT and a guard. are we serious? they had huge upgrades at linebacker and tight end and have a 1 rd pick. also jalen ramsey is their best defensive player. wilkins is not elite or dominant.

  5. Jim and the GM look like a joke so far. They have no skill players. Getting rid of k.Allen was the dumbest move from any team in the off season. Run 2 times pass 1 and punt is not a good plan in today's NFL.

  6. I really hope the Vikings don't buy into this J.J. hype. When watching him during the season at Michigan at no point did I think that was a NFL quarterback even a backup now they talking about top 10 pick what!!!!!????

His team is stacked. Max Jones looked a lot better than JJ ever did and he was a reach at 15 pick. JJ is a 3rd-4th round quarterback that can possibly develop to an ok starter like Kirk was able to do, but if you draft him at 5th then he needs to perform within 2 years

  7. Wrong. 40 dollars gambling a day equals over 1k dollars a month. That could easily cost an overtime working family their mortgage. Defending gambling is defending heroin addiction. That's why there are gamblers anonymous must like alcohol and narcotics anonymous. You guys are very in touch with the wealthy sports world but you are clueless about the world that makes the sports world possible.

  8. Hilarious cope session about gambling and the state of it in 2024, the Gambling perspective from well off/rich older people is laughable.

You have no idea about the 18-21 year old kid demographic that is blowing their paycheck on shitty parlays, gambling is a worse problem today than it was 5 years ago becaue of how pushed it is. Colin & John obviously dont want to admit they are part of the problem by making a profit off of it though.

  9. Colin and John dead wrong on gambling I understand they make huge money off it but it’s just not reality gambling is becoming a public health emergency in this country also in Europe they have regulations against advertising during games and Australia is a gambling addicted country it can be done for fun but it’s too easily available
