Quinn Ewers reclassified to Caleb Williams class for NIL reasons (he was supposed to graduate the following year). His freshman season was his senior year of HS. He is a true sophomore this year; people always forget that.
Tre lance ballooning in from dallas
Jets wont trade for anyone major. Least not yet. They will ride with Wilson for at least the next 4 weeks and evaluate where they're at. If they feel like they're close they will certainly try and trade for Stafford or Kirk. Anything else is a wash imo. Winston is better than Wilson but he's not going to be good enough to get your through the AFC to the SB, so trading assets for him seems pointless. Figure they will roll with Wilson and let Rodgers guide him on the sideline and go from there. I expect a vet to come in though. Flacco seems most likely. The Kirk trade could happen closer to mid season if Vikings are bad, but as it stands they have no real alternative going forward.
Josh Allen regression is getting concerning. He was playing like a rookie when all they had to do was play complimentary football and walk away with a W. He's taking unnecessary hits when he runs. When watching I didnt see many check downs or easy throws, and when there was he was looking for the home run vs a good secondary. Someone needs to dial him back and tell him to play within the offense. The big plays will happen but last night he kept swinging like they were down 14. His third int was brutal, simple throw that should have been outside the numbers and he threw it inside for some reason. They might need to simply the offense and give him some playaction boot stuff and give him some easy reads because he's playing like a guy who has peaked and now the regression is setting in now that teams know how to play the Bills.
"If your starting qb goes down Wilson is the QB who you trade for"
**Sam nods in agreement**
WTF?
A QB room of Kirk cousins, Aaron rodgers, and Zach Wilson would have to rank as the single worst collection of vibes for a QB room in NFL history. No doubt.
Done with you guys after I saw Fields with a higher rating than Love. Dude had two turnovers, your ratings are garbage!
My observation on Josh Allen. Your OC makes a massive difference and Brian Dabol is a fantastic OC.
This is who Josh Allen is. He had 1 elite consistent year in 2020, but every other season of his has been wildly inconsistent and a roller coaster of great throws mixed in with horrible decisions and him trying to pick up a few extra yards with his legs and taking big hits when he should just slide or go out of bounds. He’s an amazing talent, but i cant say he’s a top 3 QB anymore.
Bills OC has the bury them mentality. Not great for a coordinator.
Bring in Kaepernick
Josh allen is Carson Wentz 2.0
God I miss It’s Just Football.
Who needs the writers guild. The NFL week 1 script was incredible.
How dare Peyton Manning give his opinions.
Where did you all play in thr NFL? How many games did you all start at QB?
You all just sound so arrogant and pathetic.
Wtf is going on with Josh Allen? He can't be trusted anymore, he's so turnover prone. Forget his excuses of same sh*t different day, play better! Protect the damn ball!
Josh allen was the 1 qb last year that had a higher QBR under pressure than in a clean pocket.
The Jets only rushing 3, and doing so to contain him, is how you beat him.
He cant take contact like he could in the past, he isnt as fast as he was in the past, he isnt a top 5 QB.
But people hang on to the highlight reel and it will take time for people to realise that hes just on par with Jackson.
How about they just move on with Wilson and punt on this year. Anything else is just desperation. You see how bad Wilson is then draft a guy from what might be the best QB draft sense 2020.
Rodgers is 39. What did people expect from a middle aged man competing against young men half his age? He looked slow and in decline last season, but everyone dismissed it, and blamed it on the team, or the coaching. He trotted and pranced around in practice and on Hard Knocks – but hey, no Anthony Barr to blame it on this time. It's just called aging out.
The Packers already look better without him…
Im mentally broken and rarely feel any emotion above or below baseline. I felt actual sadness for the first time in a while seeing A-rod go down like that. Judging by the rest of the game it doesnt seem like the Oline was up to par which probably means he was gonna pick up an injury at some point this year, he is old AF after all. Sucks its something serious but hopefully they can get him next year after another offseason of improvement.
Give me a journeyman backup over Zach Wilson. The journeyman isnt going to immediately sprint out of the pocket and try to make a once in a lifetime miracle play every time the ball is snapped. I have nothing against him personally but he is a bad QB. If he had been sitting behind Rodgers for 2 years or something maybe theres some hope of improvement
Someone needs to remind Josh Allen that not every offensive play needs to be a TD. Its crazy to me because its obvious what the issue is, so he knows the issue. So why is he still doing it? Does his mind go blank when the ball hits his hands and the only thing in his head is MUST SCORE TD NOW. He acts like he's playing a casual game of NFL blitz and wins and losses dont matter. Someone give this man a reality check please.
If I was Joe Schoen and Giants, I would trade Tyrod Taylor for Mekhi Becton with a even trade.
I have had a thought since the end of last season that Allen won’t reach his potential since Daball is gone.
Which gave me the idea the Giants should trade picks and x player for Allen with this b class coming, it wouldn’t hurt the bills with some players they should get rid of before they get bad and worse. With a good rook and cheaper team they have options. The Giants and Daball have their QB.
Some things made me pause this session;
Few questions, so is week one just week one where we need to throw it out for some teams or all? For some players or all, when regarding a player like Allen?
Something else that stands out is this isn’t the first time Trevor has manipulated the info to try to, idk give the devils advocate argument regarding Jamison? I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be laughing, rolling my eyes or just mad at the sheer, let’s say less than stellar logic.
Completely disagree with the logic here. No available QB will make them a SB contender, so may as well roll the dice with the young talented kid. If you’re the Jets you’d rather go 5-12 with Wilson than 9-8 with some other mid tier QB
Packers aren't going to concede, which they have to do, the conditional 1st round pick to help the Jets and Vikings
Gent’s really excellent episode. So much information. Never been a big college guy but want to understand the QB situation. Also made me watch the Colorado v Nebraska replay which was a good use of time.
What about tyrod Taylor? He deserves to be a starter IMHO and he's mobile. The jets need a mobile qb because their offensive line is terrible.
Jets cant use 1st or 2nd rd pick in any trade, both are locked down until the conditions of the first trade are determined.
Shouldn’t the Jets make the call to the Cardinals about Murray if they really are tanking for Caleb Williams?
