What an awful call at the end of an amazing game. This is why everyone hates refs. They should never decide the outcome of a game.
veteran ref ? the decision was a terrible made by an amateur.
the play was absolutely natural and nothing was wrong.
Instantly sharing the refs name so he can be the fall guy when the NFL could and should have radioed to the other refs to huddle and ultimately pick the flag up. Quit acting like it was impossible to do such, when you literally erased a whole play last week and you all like any blind person could see that you have instantly declared the end of the game.
That call which should have been absolutely terrifying to call, was thrown with absolutely zero consideration. Despite holding back on these flags all game. The eagles team players are very understanding of the finality of these rulings and have decided to accept it the way he was most likely advised to do for the sake of his career in NFL (at the end of the day you know who writes your checks so it would not be worth it for you to help fuel any potential major boycott). Unfortunately this being the super bowl, there is nothing that will change the fire attitude held by half the nation whom lost their money. I know their next move is to start airing gambling PSAs to blame gambling for the added emotional anger they will face but at the end of the day you just set the worst example in the world for all athletes two weeks straight.
Suggesting no matter how hard you try the world will still absolutely cheat you and deny you the opportunity to win and will show zero remorse for cold blooded denial. So no, Bengals you were not popular enough to be allowed into another super bowl because they can't afford to have too many young not yet household names in the same game, especially when they have the guy from the commercials available whom old people and non followers to consider tuning in for ..and they believe you have no fans outside of Ohio so you cannot proceed.
And Eagles unfortunately you gave them the opportunity to cheat you, they probably would have started earlier but they decieded to wait and see if the cheifs could do it naturally, unfortunately they couldn't get in the end zone there when it mattered most and they likely would not have been able to get in the end zone in OT either…so they ended the game on the spot because they weren't ready to allow that type of black QB win it all and become the face of the league. Nope not in front of all those old wealthy boosters, and therefore they would execute the most cold blooded interference if necessary to keep these people in power able to sustain the narratives that full black QBs can't win a little longer. The NFL feels they've gone as far as they can to make blacks feel comfortable, they allowed black performers rather than country music stars etc but the trophy is designed to be awarded to a Caucasians to be crowned the most superior of all.
Unfortunately Hurts and co is as clearly black as it gets and the NFL could not risk blacks taking home the entire show. Mahomes is acceptable tho he's not full black and thus able to allow the narrative of technical decisions making superiority to continue, whilst allowing the black QBs running ability to be shown to be not good enough…
Even though the Eagles absolutely were about to win the game and the defensive and clock managers just did all they needed to ensure they'd have plenty of time to at least get in field goal range for OT… But like I said they were all overruled and there was nothing anyone on their team or staff could do but accept the ultimate heartless robbery that just took place. Black players already know, unfortunately in such a situation they need to be absolutely perfect in behavior allowing zero room for people to suggest a tickle was a knife wound.
As for Mahomes, he was automically going to try to get a call, that's his MO and players will always ask for a handout even though we could all see clearly that ball was uncatchable because the execution was off just like a simular pass we saw earlier in the game where a deep ball was missed on due to the expected WR route very similar to that pattern was not executed properly leading to a miss identical to that one. That's what really happened but mahomes decided to blame the player claiming he just watched it… Yet he threw the badly placed ball anyways hoping it would be a TD, not a throwaway but knowing it was okay if they had to have a FG, and preparing to blame the opponent for the lack of chemistry with Juju when running that double move route that is extremely easy to miss time compared to a fade or something depending on how quickly the receiver can reverse to the outside and how many miliseconds it took for them to sell the inside portion of that route.
AIR-BALL…… BOO-REf's!!!!!!!!
Would it have been fair for the refs not to call a penalty, which they clearly saw, just because it was the Superbowl?
I think I would rather watch women's flag football from now on.
Nobody cares that this is guys a senior anything we know what we all seen you can’t tell more than 10 million people there wrong and that they’re all seeing the wrong thing just don’t add up NFL is under fire because of their negligence when it comes down to crucial moments
one of THE WORST calls in NFL superbowl history …. and I hate the Eagles …. absolute bullshit
I don't give a damn what anyone says, that was a ticky – tack call at a crucial time in the game. BS
Very informed & knowledgeable reporting from this reporter. Great perspective, respectable and insightful commentary. For what it's worth I liked it, and thank you.
CBS cant find someone with some actual insight to do their sports commentary?
B.S. Refs had no business deciding this game, which is essentially what they did. Shame on the NFL for letting this happen.
p.s. I really didn’t care who won.
It was the right call my @@$$. She just lost any journalist credibility to anyone who actually saw the play
GAME SUCKED, VEGAS AND THE OWNER CAME OUT ON TOP
What the fuq am I listening too .. I hate the NFL that’s my word ..
Total garbage! Fact #1, refs determined the outcome of the game with a horrendous call! Total bullshit and everyone knows it! The officiating in the NFL is anything but consistent! NFL = NATIONAL FIXED LEAGUE! 100% GARBAGE CALL! THE NFL IS RIGGED! fIXED! The truth will come out about these refs, they are on the take, lets see their bank accounts!
Controversy sells. Just ask the media. Divide and conquer.😜
Imagine calling a penalty for holding in a game where the objective is to stop the other players from getting the ball.
Y’all still gone watch and go to the games so shut the fuck up about it. Everybody who knows anything knows they use the refs to rig the game lmao
Why are you selling this so hard lady? Because it’s rigged? One day most of you will learn it’s not about a cheif it’s not about an eagle, it’s not about a bengal it’s not about a jet, Giant or bear or patriot……you’re gonna learn the NFL is fake.
You can make the "Technically it was holding" argument, and he can own it for $$$ from the NFL Bag Man, and they can give "Expert Opinions" all they want. It all falls apart when they didn't call this as a penalty all game, (Or season for that matter) where this exact contact happens every single time a player spins on a defender, and they DID NOT throw the flag until the play was whistled dead from an incomplete pass.( Which was also uncatchable even if there wasn't contact, as Mahomes was throwing the ball away. Not to mention it happened within 5 yards. Follow the money. Chiefs make more money for the NFL, them winning the Super Bowl pays much higher margins than if the Eagles did. BS Rigged! It's HUGE business with potentially Billions on the line. Too much to just allow the outcome to be determined by fate. Just own it NFL, WWE is more realistic than you! Just one of millions of disgusted and no longer interested fans (Practically everyone that isn't a Chiefs fan)
The Eagles lost that game. Second half was just… blame it on a penalty call all you want, it was easy to tell who won that game.
NFL is like wrestling
Cheffers is the worst ref, all he cares about is throwing flags, he thinks it makes him a hall of Famer. Funny how he missed the helmet to helmet right in front of him.
He just talking in favor of the referees because that what they wanted him to do. If you watch this in slower motion all this was is a simple touch their was never a grab or pull the jersy never got pull or stretch in a opposite motion of direction this was a cheating sucker call we the viewers aint stupid players have contact threw out their routes from both sides but too me and millions of others this was not holding and to other referees that look at this afterward knows it was a bad call
Between intense games coming down to flaky calls by the ref, and players doing late game situational unawareness flukes, to so much money being bet on each game, professional sports are just not fun to watch anymore. Not to mention the NFL dominating ENTERTAINMENT industry…It’s become the new WWF
Stripes decided NOTHING. It came down to Philly NOT stopping a gimpy QB, KC SMARTLY running down the clock, and a BIG made FG. Way too many media cry babies that must have lost big bets … HA HA!
