New World Ultimate Beginner’s Guide

In this New World beginner’s guide, we give tips for fast leveling, making the most of gear in and out of combat, as well as how to make the most of trade skills.

New World is an MMORPG from Amazon Games set on the mythical island of Aeternum. For thousands of years explorers have ventured to the island in search of its mysterious resource known as Azoth. This substance grants power and eternal life but often at a cost and has led to the corruption of the island as well as the island’s former masters to nearly go extinct.

In this video, DeVante talks about all the important things a beginner should know about New World before they start playing. He breaks down ways to maximize XP gain in order to level up faster as well as how to cut down on travel time in games. Later in the video, DeVante details New World’s combat, weapons, damage types and armor sets as well as discussing tips for trade skills like gathering and crafting.

New World released for PC on September 28, 2021 and is now available via Amazon or Steam.

  1. This was a very good and pretty thorough beginner video. One quick tip most people aren't aware of regarding gear equipped weight class thing. Do NOT wear a shield if you're not using sword and shield because it counts as your equipped weight potentially putting you into a higher weight bracket for no actual use. Cheers!

  2. I was totally expecting you to say two "boars" with one stone… and you didn't. Only slightly disappointed. You should note that XP cards while useful leveling are useless endgame and certain cards are finite so you should consider those first. PVP flagging is a risk vs reward choice. Overall decent compilation of tips, I wouldn't say ultimate compared to what's available but thank you for adding to the pool of information.

  3. I wanna get into NW. But I'm a bit worried since of the whole bricking of some Nvidia 3000 series cards.( Extra worried because i have a 1660) so I'll just wait until the issue is resolved and whenever i end up with a better card.

  4. My actual criticism of the game so far is 1. how fast mobs respawn I don't like. 2. As I'm really enjoying the musket I wish the mobs had a turn rate speed instead of instant change of direction it makes landing my shots a bit of coin flip. 3. I've noticed 3 times today a mob would take damage initially then reset whilst very close to the mobs spawn.

  5. the free respect for your skill as notihng to do with the level of your character, its about your weapon mastety level, under 10 you won't pay for respec, above that, you'll have to. you should make better research.

  6. A game finally utilized the greatest and brilliant Realm vs. Realm mechanics from the game Dark Age of Camelot. That game was decades ahead of its time and New World is using the greatest parts like faction bonuses from claiming territory and giant realm wars with the War aspect of the game. Neverending fun and you feel like the things you do have a huge effect on the game with taxes.
