  1. That's why I'm waiting for lost ARK. Try playing it on the Russian version, there's a translator. You'll find out why Amazon delay lost ark against new world

  2. While I disagree with your review, you have some valid points. This game will get regular updates, like most MMO's, they will extend their map, add mounts soon and possible will add swimming. The base game is great and I didn't noticed any bugs to be honest. I have watched your full review but I didn't experienced anything like you had. We will see how it will turn out in the future I mean Final Fantasy Online was a disaster and now it's one of the most played MMO's, ESO also had a difficult launch but it turned out to be an amazing game 🙂

  3. It's narcissism Mac, that has become an epidemic. No emapthy, no responsibility, entitled to everything, craving admiration, while hating and bullying those who don't submit.
Studies revealing , that over 60% of boys show medium to very strong symptoms of NPD. A 7 fold increase over past 30 years. Learn about NPD and it will help you to keep your sanity, in such toxic environments they create.

  4. I alway thought, going through a 24 skills rotation is boring af. The combat in NW relies on action and reaction. You need to actively dodge attacks and actually aim with ranged weapons. It is damn satisfying to hit a long range toss with the spear for example. So, having the maximum of 6 skills at a time is more than enough.
I absolutely agree on the boring and generic quests though.
Other than that, game looks and feels really great. And if you just want to kill some rainy afternoons grinding your crafting skills, NW might be worth a buy.

  5. Great review Mac… Sums up pretty much my views exactly. I suspect I will be one of those people who just does crafting and fishing.
Seriously considering asking for a refund on Steam since I have spent the majority of time in queues so far. Up to level 15 and can't see the gameplay changing as I level up now.

  6. Love the game. We won a territory yesterday and so far got my pvp build that's an absolute terror. The sense of size and the variety of biomes is great. And it's always tense to roam around and go prone to sneak attack the unwary. Haven't felt this level of bloodlust since wilderness in runescape.

  7. The abilities thing that mac mentions is actually very nuanced. You can use modifications after tier 3 and it changes the way they work. It's like diablo 2 with more variety.

  8. Horrific game launch? Not often I disagree with Mac but for me its the best mmoropg launch ever, and by some distance. Sure day one there was massive queues but day two there was double the servers and they say there will be free migration in a couple of week so people can be where they want. More importantly there is zero lag on the servers and it plays smooth. I've never known that on a game release… not even an expansion release.

    Edit:
The fact that you cant swin is a joke tho, I mean I was just gobsmacked when I saw you walk through the water.

  9. I am thoroughly enjoying the game personally. I dont find it boring, theres loads to do and I often get sidetracked doing something else then something else. I'm just a casual dad with a few hours a night. I get involved with all aspects of the game, questing, PvP, crafting, gathering, etc etc.
It's a shame that Mack sees the community as toxic as much as he says. I suppose this is the luck of the server, the server I'm on is fine in the main. I dont bother having global chat on usually anyway.
The queues are annoying, but they'll settle down. In my view however this is the most stable launch of a major game, the servers are good and stable even when loads of folk are around. I think it's unfair to call it a horrible launch. But hey YMMV I guess.

  10. Absolutely agree with everything you said, from the unimaginative mob type recycling to the sad state of mods/GMs.
The world looks great, but it's devoid of meaningful content.
If they'd add world events, that could go a long way to making levelling more interesting.
