  1. Sorry mate you fail to understand that open world in an mmo is NOT competitive PVP. Arenas and the such like yeh same lvl etc equal playing field thus needed for competitive play. This game is predominantly a PVE Progressive Scaling mmo not a Progressive PVP Scaling mmo. Why should players who have progressed through the ranks be a victim of 90% to 100% Regressive scaling when up against a lower lvl player ? It defeats the whole object. Its simple dont flag for pvp until you feel you can look after yourself. XP gain through flagging is minor, drops are irrelevant – Faction rewards are capped anyway – and there are always other solutions, group lvlling higher mobs – farming dungeons etc. Be thankful you have any scaling and lvl up without flagging and wait till your lvl 60 or arenas which might auto max lvl you if you wish to do them.

The people moaning about too low scaling say things like higher lvl players will zerg and grief noobs BUT what they fail to highlight is that with 90 to 100 % regressive scaling they GRIEF and ZERG higher lvl players, which they shouldn't be able to do. Its simple – just dont flag for pvp until you feel its more even and/or wait for arenas OR go play a Battle Royale game..!

Here is another thing you need to know… What killed PVP in New World from the Alpha ? PVP'ers made them change the dynamics.

  2. I hope this game won’t be ESO with Sea of Thieves mechanics. I love how you can’t kill people unless you’re in a certain area in ESO. However, I can’t stand Sea of Thieves server mechanics, despite it being a fun as hell game to play.

  3. . As they have pretty much turned their back on being a pvp sandbox and went full on generic themepark.. this move towards what you would want for a pvp sandbox which is remove scaling is gonna clash hard with the community they have chosen to cater to . They gonna have to roll it back because the crowd they have now is gonna share the opinion you are expressing. The pvp sandbox guys like myself already abandoned the game and went to stuff like MO2 , or back to Eve or some other pvp sandbox,. Plus .. pvp sandbox games generally have skills you train not levels . Like again .. eve and mo2 . But themepark games have character and gear levels . So scaling makes more sense in a game like that. I just think this game doesn't know what it wants to be and has an identity crisis . They seem to want to keep both their hardcore pvp crowd they initially went for and their themepark crowd they have now .

the problem is you just have to pick one and this game is trying to cater to both and for that reason they are going to fail at both unless they pick one and stick with it and let the other go . At this point I think they need to stick to the themepark crowd as it is larger and the hardcore pvp guys are not gonna return if they reverse course later .
