New World Peak Players Down NEARLY 70% Since Launch

Yes, those are really the numbers, no it’s not normal for decline to happen this fast.
It’s still a good population, but that line really has to flatten sooner rather than later.

  1. 11:55 It's aquadeer! 😲

In all seriousness though, I got to about level 40 on my main in game, having dabbled in the closed and open beta. Then my free company leadership, which I was not a part of, decided to throw a war to a minor faction that had no territory on the map, and then all that leadership changed to that faction, and was probably paid in gold for throwing that war and the territory I had invested in. I just don't care about player drama and politics, I just want to craft and work the economy, and the economy was dying. 🙁

  2. Very good video but just to make clear of a possible misconception.Active playerbase and concurrent players is not the same thing. The active playerbase number is always bigger than the concurrent.Steam Charts tracks concurrent players.Which means that at this point more than 300.000 total players still engage NW aka active playerbase.Population dropping like said in the vid ofc. Also the 100.000 concurrent players of OSRS does not track the total population of the active playerbase of the game which is way higher when we mention the active playerbase,so the 350.000 active playerbase of TBC Classic is not ofcourse the concurrent players that the game has which is way lower. So comparing active playerbase with concurrent playerbase is not accurate at all

  3. I think that one of the major issues with New World and also a little bit with WoW Retail is that it's systems are pretty complicated. When playing New World I sometimes feel like I'm looking at one of those video slot machines, things flashing and popping up everywhere.
This is one of the reasons why WoW classic/TBC is so good even as a starting player. Once you figure out the combat, which is easy, the game very slowly drops you into all the mechanics in the world.
I quit New World because I just couldn't be assed learning everything that was going on.
See you in Seasons of Mastery 😜

  4. I played for a bit then got a Steam refund, just meh game with lots of potential and seemingly no bright light at the end of the tunnel from heaps of real reviews. That being said, if I didn't have to pay to play (ie there was a free/sub option), I'd drop back in to chceck it out again in the future, something I do with games I put in this category (high potential but defs not there yet). But in it's current state with current pay model, yeah nah. Pity, cos I was very excited about this new player in the MMO game. Let's hope they stick with it and don't give up!

  5. I didn't make it to level 10. It became clear right away this was a game revolving mostly around the fetch quest grind. I tried to refund but had spent too much time sitting in queues.

  6. The classless system can work if done right. NW is not doing it right. Your weapon decides what you can do and you get to hold 2 at once with 3 abilities per weapon giving you only 6 abilities total at any one time. There is very little variety people can do with such limits. UO, SWG before the revamp both had good classless systems.

  7. The obvious lesson here… money != art. All the money in the world couldn't buy them a quality game design vision, so they tries to appease the crowd and were left with an abortion of a game.

Video games are art. If you want art that isn't shit, maybe stop shopping at the big box store?

  8. I love the potential of New World but as of today? It's way too repetitive, barely lvl 22 and I got burned out doing the same copy paste quest which just feel like dailies with how repetitive they are.

  9. I understand the need for videos like this. But when every content creator who covers MMORPGS makes a video with a title like this it instantly makes people say “Dead Game” “Game is Trash” etc.
80 percent of the videos I’m recommended about New World are videos just shitting on the game. I personally think New World has wonderful potential, it just needs improvements. Being in the world is nice, I find myself playing for hours and actually having fun in it. But when the global chat has nothing but negativity surrounding it, then I come to YouTube and it’s the same, it becomes a bit discouraging. I want the game to thrive and become something a lot of us can play and enjoy.
This cancel culture/everything is “trash” era is pretty annoying. Even if you say you like something, you’ll be told your opinion is wrong. It’s almost as if the majority of people these days are living in a life of nothing but negativity. Quit surrounding yourselves with that way of thinking and maybe you can find yourself enjoying things more in life.
