New World MMO Equip Load NOT Bugged! Light/Med Armor Bonus WORKS, Is It Enough VS Heavy Armor Meta?



I have seen all over my server, reddit, and the forums that there is an issue with equip loads not giving the proper bonuses, Originally, I did my math wrong and thought so too, but if we actually use our brains, they’re working perfectly fine. (Apologies for previous mistakes lads)

Lame excuse, the game just launched , yea u are correct, it just launched after 7 years of dev, not with a couple of bugs, but with game braking bugs that give ppl who exploit them big advantages against ppl that don't, and the thing is Amazon is 2 slow to do something about it, they have in important positions ppl that have no experience in MMORPG's and u can see that all the way thru the game, the overall feeling is that for the graphics and sound they hired a top team and spend 75% of the budget and for the rest just 25%.We all want this game to be good but the only one who can make it good doesn't really do much…

  2. I've bee saying this forever. People are legit retarded with math and then every YouTuber and his mother needs to jump on the content wagon and throws sht out there without actually checking. Shts sad and spreads false information. So sad.

Glad this has got addressed but tbh deletd this game it's so far from playable at this point so having a break.. outrush always disabled .portals bugged quests bugged.. wars/invasions exploited by leading faction company's and all heavy spamming shockwave ( Zzzz ) heavy is so far from balanced it's just more bs this game has that's been poorly done .. there amateurs behind this game it's clear to see .. still prefer light tho hopefully they buff light and medium with mayb more damage or extra buffs

  4. Honestly, whether or not the percentages for equip loads are accurate is purely just irrelevant at this point. Heavy is 100% the meta as the best armor in the game is currently the 520gs heavy faction gear. The resilient perk is bugged giving damage reduction to ALL damage. Not just the crits. On top of that, these patches are not going to be able to just "iron out" these major problems. Like the game being predominantly Client side based, and not server. So all the pvp exploits, gold duping, etc. The game literally needs to be taken down and rebuilt from the ground up to fix that issue. Just watch the latest Josh Strife video. Ive got almost 200hrs in the game, and have loved it. But the game is severely broken in nearly all aspects, there's just no denying it.

  5. i really think you have free choice, i don't see a problem in ranged dd's running light armor, they have to be careful not getting engaged by bruisers, but they can also keep their opponents on distance with the roll.

    Since you can run 2 heavy pieces and still be in medium armor im really wondering how big the diffrence actually is, depending on the situation i really love to have the jumps to really get out of danger or aoe's.

    always want to test myself but it's so time consuming and you have to be really careful with the setup and the math.

  6. As a fire staff / rapier user, I've found that medium is worth it for the dodge alone. The distance on it and lowered stamina cost, combined with animation canceling with dodge/parry/fleshe/burnout and holster, plus how dodge restores mana and is the ideal distance for rapier, makes it feel too good to ditch for extra resistance. I have full faction heavy, as well as a mixed one for medium, and I die significantly more easily in heavy because being slippery saves me from needing the extra resist. Other than specifically for standing on the point in war, when heavy wins and it's not even close, so I'll switch to full heavy if that's absolutely required.

  7. Due to the 5% dmg bonus at 50 str we need to change the math to,
    so if we find the base dmg before this multiplier str multiplier in heavy we get 269 (269×1.05 = 282)
    thus 269×1.2 = 322.8 before the 5% str multiplier
    269×0.05 = 13.45 for dmg from 5% str multiplier
    all numbers are truncated in there code, and the dmg multipliers are additive not multiplicative so,
    322+13 = 335 (are number)
    so in total we lose 1.25 dmg due to truncation
