The last time i was hyped is the release of GW2. And yes, I'm so effin HYPE LET'S GOOOOO!!!
I have not gotten a full set of any gathering equipment gear but I have gotten a piece or two of mining, harvesting, skinning, etc. So they do drop from mobs and I found that it becomes relatively common to get gathering gear from mobs starting around maybe level 25 or so. Higher your level and area, seems to be more common to get them. Definitely take a while to get a full set though from drops.
Can confirm that I had the mining shirt drop from a mob in the closed beta.
So what does luck do for your mining? Yield?
If you played BETA..does the gear and crafting stuff carry over? I didn't play any Beta..so wondering if I will be at a disadvantage.

During the open beta I had like 12-14 drops of profession gear, mostly green and a couple of blues… from mobs, chests, supply crates, etc.
The downloads….have begun… How many of us are going to be refreshing the launch page over night "just in case' they start early? LOL <– raises hand

might be a stupid question (just played in open beta and didn't spend too much time crafting^^):
but how do u increase the gear score to increase the gathering speed? Do u just need to put in higher/better ingredients? I didn't thought the iron tools would get better not sure if I saw there an option to use other ressources then iron ingot, timber & leather

Game is unplayable due to long queue times. Get a refund come back when they get game fixed.
Mining animation is bug? in past betas you could see the animation of the stones breaking when mining and it was very satisfactory now just the stone disappears with a very rough animation, did anyone else notice this when mining?
Has anyone made a chart like that for all gathering professions? that way when I go out and gather materials I can respec my attributes to whatever I'm going to gather.

im not that sure of the respawn times. i camped some ores and they were spawning every 3-4 minutes
