New World Melee META 1.1 Into the Void



With closed beta, open beta and launch metas being completely shaken up by undocumented changes we then had massive changes for 1.1 both documented and undocumented. So let’s talk about how the meta game has shifted for new world 1.1 into the video. Last up is melee builds.

  1. One thing I forgot to mention is if you are using Great Axe or War Hammer post 1.1 expect to rubberband like crazy when left clicking in pve, pvp and especially in wars. AGS need to do a lot of work right now

  2. I recently encountered a dude that was absolutely decimating with whirlwind. No idea what he was doing. He killed me in full heavy all resilient from 7.5k health with just that one ability.

    Also armor breaker is fantastic at taking down tanks

  3. -Hearty on medium army doesn't do much does it? On heavy and light armor, hearty is insane! Medium remains at 3 dodges (then out of stamina) i think?
    -Totally agree on dex builds; musket and bow are decent damage but hard to hit and it's single target mainly. Great for 1V1 but it usually requires kiting which makes you run away from objectives. Melee meta just stands on objectives. For hammer, i like using refreshing move, if you hit more than 1 target with 2 light attacks you can use your 2 knockdowns with VERY little downtime.
    -Path of destiny is amazing, the amount of disruption is insane and with leeching path of destiny you heal a ton because hitting 3 or more people is very common.
    -Greataxe is definately the easiest because it's very forgiving. You miss one of your damage abilities, it's fine, your spin attack will get them. Not sure what you have to do? Light attack has built-in tracking, spamming it buffs you and if they run, crits return health.

    -Hammer is my favourite PVE weapon by far, it beats greataxe for me. Gaxe does better dmg but with Hammer i can tank elites and barely get hits in. The amount of CC is nuts. In PVP it's also amazing for its utility.

    -I might get rid of Gravity well too, it's an awesome ability but i don't like long cooldowns and i find it more situational. A 2nd spin attack is awesome.
    -a lof things are unfair, STR users get most benefits; their light and heavy attacks hit multiple enemies which works great with many perks, most amazing quest items or faction rewards (heavy best armor) are STR-based. The only thing they don't have is a gem which makes weapons scale dmg with STR (thank goodness)
