Amazon’s New World has been under fire in recent days for some of it’s bugs and glitches. The community and some outsiders from the game are now asking if the game is broken or is this something the developer can patch out. Let’s talk about it! You all asked me to check out @Josh Strife Hayes’s video New world is Broken.

Apparently new world is even more broken after this patch 🙁
I agree 👍 💯 . The thing that is concerning to me is patching and then more bugs just popping up. Alot of the problems now weren't being mentioned until recently. I also agree I think road maps are not necessary. The company just really needs to find their vision of where they want to take the game. Then take in the feedback from players that would assist the creation of that vision properly.
Whats up butt force ass to game here
They broke the auction house too
Everquest started out like this, exploits the Ebay market and other gold duping things, and here they are decades later as strong as they ever could be after decades
After 200 hours in the game, yes. The game is broken on many levels and I feel like I am playing the game in the middle of beta testing, BUT I will keep on playing the game as I enjoy it A LOT. PS: Make the Invasion be the same as the War. Having 40 pugs is making the Invasion nigh impossible to win and it is very frustrating for the owners of invaded territory.
The game has a lot of issues. At least 90% of the issues are easy fixes.
The game isn't broken. There is a ton to do still, and will only get better. Wars suck, and the economy is going to be a big question.
ESO was broken at launch. This is buggy.
The bugs introduced in this new patch are beyond parody. My sympathy well is running mighty dry.
I don't know if you addressed a lot of Josh's points. I don't disregard that people enjoy the game, I get it, but there are fundamental issues with the game. From story, to lack of quest mechanics, etc.. on top of the trappings of a modern day MMO.
The only problem with the data for the economy is that money will be coming in right now. Everyone is still doing quest which do pay pretty well, the problem comes after the quest are all gone.
The bigger problem i see that is not only New World but also other MMO like Cyberpunk and now New World and other eastern MMO release their games too early. I guess investers start nagging at them an and want money to flow in and then they release the mmo when it is not ready and you get Cyberpunk and New World getting plauged as a result. WIth Amazone, the company that flew to the moon should have enough money to fix this, but right now i am kind of wondering if they will end up like Cyberpunk. A game EVERYBODY (yes me too) was hyped about and now you hear nothing. If you as a company decide to make a MMO you have to have the time and wait until it is ready and not until investers start to moan. The investers will kill your game so stop freaking listen to them!
Well presented here Brian, thx even if I'm not playing enjoy your perspective on the game. So, what do you think of the recent "fixes" for healing, if they keep doing things like this it will begin to resemble other games that destroyed viable healing in the name of streamlining 'big battles' for less lag. I feel for those dedicated souls who carry the burden of keeping the team alive thru thick or thin, lag or DC, etc. With your recent controller update video I almost returned, then I read up on the latest patches and fixes and decided a challenging game of pc solitaire might be a better use of my time. To those who are playing I hope the game becomes better, there were parts I enjoyed, just too much I didnt so I deleted it but it's still hiding in my library if I ever get a desire to grind for gold and glory again. Keep up the good work sir, even if I dont play I'll watch your content.
Yes and it has been since beta. They really didn’t fix anything. If the copy paste towns didn’t clue you in I don’t know what to tell you.
VERY BROKEN. Shallow too. In fact, it's the most shallow MMO on the market. The only thing more shallow than New World are FF14 healing dps options.
Where is the alternate advancement system for pvp engagements? Think–leveling through pvp with special abilities, powers, and titles.
Where's the open world leaderboard? I can't even track who kills me and the company they're from?
Where are the open world pvp objectives? I'M SICK OF MISSION BOARDS BRUH.
I could go on and on…the game is way too shallow.
For MMO players who derive "fun" from playing the market and utilizing the economy for even more "fun". New World is an absolute bust.
I've started watching Josh as well (along with his 'Worst MMO' line). I get the leveling off for players. People tried the game, then stop for whatever reason (I was for burnout and graphics) but that was expected. You're right, "if you like game play it, if you don't go play something else." Being one that went somewhere else, I've probably start hitting Runescape 3 of all games, and go back to FFXIV. Its good to have someone champion the game that love the game like you do with a pragmatic viewpoint.
I guess I agree with both you? On the one hand, I agree with Josh that the things that are broken in NW do impact the game more than other games would be because of the systems the game has in place. On the other, I agree with you that much of this isn't out of the norm for a typical launch, especially an MMO. /shrug
Thanks; the game in general is fun, I did not experience those issues because I do not participate or do any PVP content, I only do the PVE side, but unfortunately the vast majority of people in this age sees and polarize failures and flaws more than seeing the potential .. I saw the Video you were commenting on and I hope they will fix the issues soon.
Bluntly, there’s no way I’m investing time and energy into that game until those gold and combat issues are solved. These seem like pretty major oversights.
Making a fun game is important, but not as important as making the fun meaningful in a linear progress based game. Yes, I can have fun chopping, skinning and mining for a few relaxing hours in a beautiful world, but when I get back to town and the crafting is pointless, the market is broken, and the top companies eat me alive for the small amount of scratch I could make? The fun activity all of a sudden isn't worth it, because I can go have fun AND meaning in other games.
Every game that has come out over the past 5-10 yrs is broken! Always takes a couple of years after launch for an mmo to get into a good place but unfortunately they lose most of the player base these days because people have zero patience!
I don’t think it’s worth the price tag so far. I’ve played better free to play Korean mmo’s lol
Lol somehow I turned up the speed to 1.25. and I was like how much caffeine did he have before filming. xD
Here's the problem: it has been put out by some of the biggest content creators in the MMOsphere that NW may be irreparably broken. The only counter to this, from my way of thinking, is for Amazon to address that with clear language and to make good on the fixes necessary. It's not just that there are some bugs, and that the game was released according to industry standard (ie, too early), but that the level of disfunction in the game is so deep that it may never be fixed. That is the narrative they need to address. As far as I know, they are not addressing it. This isn't the decision of the worker bees, who I hold in high regard, but it is the decision of their corporate masters, and I think it is misguided. In 2021, information spreads fast, and the MMORPG market is an inherently fickle one–especially where longevity is concerned. So, I encourage Amazon to address these arguments head on. If they do not, either with clear language or with results that are irrefutable, they will continue to hemorrhage customers. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.
new bug reported today that people arent getting payment for auctions that sell while they are offline.
