I currently think that it's not fair/fun to devote my entire time and life to leveling up a trade skill with not much reward behind it. This is not really a fun way to earn gold. Just as you said people play OPR and earn 30k in 2 days apparently while having fun in the game allowing them to buy whatever the hell they want off the market. With this what's the point to the trade skills, the shits not fun or rewarding to level up and the gold earned from those trade skills is earned trying to get the gold back we spent leveling up them shits. But a guy spamming OPR can buy whatever he wants by having fun in the game. Another thing, after you use your 2 laz keys and 2 genesis key, you're forced to pay OR craft to get back into the dungeon. This requires you to spend gold to get a slot into a dungeon or have 200 stonecutting. These dungeons are not rewarding at all for people who don't have 600 WM for all their gear. So again, the players time. They have to spend a shit ton of time getting 600 WM to make the dungeons worthwhile. THEN get 200 stonecutting to get back into dungeon or pay for a slot. I know you're a pvp player but the game currently has no reward/fulfillment for pve players. This is what I believe people are upset about.
Market rant had me rolling. I sat at 57 for 3 weeks and just hit 60 3 days ago. I got the last 3 levels just buying shit off the market for town boards Cuz I was like fuck it. Then at 60 I immediately went to market to buy gear and weapons and have 577 gear score for like 7k gold total. I've just done outpost rush since and have played non stop for a couple days and having so much fun. So yeah fuck watermark shits seem boring
Ok I agree it's in its best place but reading the patch notes and the whoopies they did with removing armorer by accident, changes bomb DMG and health values, making ads strong then certain bosses are laughable to me. Game is getting better but still needs a lot of work
I love the game, but don't huff copium man. If you don't complain and brush off any reasonable issues with the game, which there are hundreds of then this game will never get to a solid state. Be realistic. The game is far from being good.
I still enjoy OPR and the pvp a bit, but its an unbalanced shitshow. Economy is an absolute disaster. Worst economy I've seen in any MMO and I've played a dozen of them. PvE is horrendous, although I'll let it slide since they worked on that last. The only true saving grace of this game is the crafting system which in retrospect isn't that amazing, its just better than other MMOs take on it.
If we kept your mindset then shit would never get fixed. Never settle for less. Games are becoming way too lazy because of this mentality. Just look at eastern games like BDO and tell me that game doesn't have 5x the amount of effort put into it for what I'd imagine is less funding. Can't settle for less.
The lag is usually with large groups of people, it was great at one point but now when large clusters of players are together it heavily favors defensive siege weapons and aoe hammer CCs.
Dueling and small scale PvP in this game is absolutely amazing. I can spend hours at Windsward gates just dueling people and testing out different playstyles.
This is what saves the game for me. They have the right combat system whether it's full of bugs, problems and glitches, doesn't matter because that can get fixed with time and player feedback.
Go play another MMO if you want to, but you sure won't find one with a combat system like this one.
I do agree that its somewhat going in the right direction, and that the devs have been very responsive, but its pretty much a solid fact that they broke a lot of things along the way. Which in time, just to be fair, will be fixed, assuming they will not break something else. The very reason that this patch, which you seem to enjoy so much, was even possible is due to the hoards of criticism in the past. So lets be real, this patch broke a lot of shit too, and just disregarding it as whining ain't gonna get them to fix it.
The main issue i have with the recent patch is the stealth nerfs. It's made it insanely harder for people, like myself, who are stuck on a very low pop server to farm elite zones solo. If I could run OPR, I would. If I could run dungeons, I would. There's just not enough people atm. I love the game and really want to keep playing but feel like I just need to put it on the back burner until merges happen.
I want this game to crash and burn. Specifically I want the PVP players to have no fun whatsoever.
They destroyed healers as a class. I have zero interest in 'mixing playstyles', zero interest in melee, zero interest in heavy armour and zero interest in the void gauntlet. The vocal 20% of selfish whiners will get exactly what they deserve – and then they will go to another game and destroy that, too.
