  1. As a PvE player, I never skip the cutscenes. I enjoy reading all the lore materials and immersing myself in the narrative, but I must confess that I've always thought the story of New World could be much better: better developed, better utilized, with more suspense, tension, and twists. Your video has made me very eager, and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this new narrative to see what you've created, Lula. Moreover, I found you very entertaining! Thank you for your work; I really wish I could have this story on my table today!!! haha Cheers from Brazil.

  2. Would be great to see setting to cap fps to 90 or 120.
Or when you create new character not have to repeat all of the missions if you already completed them with an old character?

  3. I'm looking forward to seeing how the team threads together the story. The tempest heart dungeon and finale was incredible. I'm also looking forward to some more ancient lore, and some "alternative history" story that you mentioned with real people from history!

  4. Interesting how you talk about the story and various characters, but the most important character, from both a lore perspective and any other perspective in the game…. The Player Character gets very much ignored… NW has absolutely the worse character creator by comparison to anything else in the MMO genre. 20+ y/o MMORPGs had and continue to have better character creators then New World.

Any plans to ever do something about it?

PS: Great video and thank you for all the work you've done…. sadly I believe all that exceptional work is being devalued by not having at least a barely acceptable character creator, since the most consistent element in everything a player can experience in NW (including lore) is their character… so if the player character is lacking everything else will be lacking too as a direct result.

  5. Good stuff. I like this type of content.
Personally, I treat this like a podcast and do other things while listening and when Lula mentions, that, due to magic editing, there is something to see, I have a look what is shown and continue afterwards doing other things. Good method of not missing anything and getting value out of your content!

  6. Will there be any new weapons added in game? i'm sure a lot of players would love to have weapons such as Dagger's or another mage weapon like Druid -ish staff. Also, what about mount's, any plans for new mounts, (not skins, mounts), in close future? @NewWorldDevs 🙂

  7. It would be interesting to add a station specifically for PVP and put the union character nearby. So even for new players who want to do PVP, it would be a point of reference. You could use the new construction to create unique objects and especially potions for pvp, it would be more intuitive for everyone.

  8. These long-form Q&A and Devtalk videos would be a welcome change. Direct feedback and conversation with the community will only help to strengthen the game, and these videos are a good way to get to more of the playerbase that may not do Discord, X, Insta, or other forms of standard communication. Lula, thanks for your time and efforts on helping craft the story.

I started playing at Launch and came back for RotAE but there is not enough end-game content to keep me motivated. Mutators and Invasions become boring and repetative after a few runs, the crafting system is overly bloated with time investment above 150 skill level, Corrupted portals do not offer enough challenge or variation of play after 3 years of doing them (especially with the removal of portals for farming in lower level zones), and I despise PvP so Arena, OPR, and the PvP Track offer me no content. Locking some of the best items behind "gates" (Serentiy at PvP track 20 or Bloodrinker from Mutated as some examples) severely reduces my desire to play. I have a fantastic rings and Greatswords, but if I force myself into content I don't enjoy, I can get that much better! That is a poor choice in design.

That's not to say that I mind the grind. I did Weaponsmithing to 200 before I stopped playing the first time and have leveled all my crafting to 200+ again on a Fresh Start Server, but adding so many levels of systems on top of systems, and the cost associated with the counpounding individual systems, especially for a primarily solo player like myself where I will be lucky to, over the course of a 2-3 hour play sesstion, obtain even 2k gold per day (because I don't have CD's to sell, or materials in storage I can give up on) drastically slows down possible progression. At best I can make 1 inprovement to my gear a week. If I wanted to curate a single named "BiS" (for me) set using upgradeable equipment at the kiln, that's over 3 months worth of grinding. And that's just for seals/matrix cash, not even the gear itself, some of which requires groups to obtain (Yuanqi and Keratin come to mind), to not even have the best options because they are locked behind the aforementioned gates. And this doesn't even touch upon the end game loop for a solo player essentially being run chest to chest or gatherable to gatherable ad nauseum day after day because there are no other solo gameplay loops. Faction quests (outside of the first 3) do not give enough gold reward to merit continuous completions, Town Board missions often require me to give up vast amounts of resources for little to no comparative reward, and the markets for raw materials has tanked so hard across servers that even if I did want to sell my farmed materials to try and get ahead gold wise, I would need to spend days farming enough to make an impact on my overall gold total. I sold the season pass Prismatic mats last week because I wanted to upgrade my hatchet at the kiln but i needed gold for a matrix. Each premium mat (Runic, Asmodeum, etc.) used to net at least 1-2k depending on supply before RotAE, I barely made 6k selling 30 Prismatics.

I am not complaining; please do not take my words as anything other than criticism. I have over 2500 hours into the game. I do very much enjoy it. But there is not enough to keep me coming back long term. I play a few months, reconnect with the few company members that remain, and then exhaust my options for "fun" before I can even get a ramp-up and content cycle going.

  9. This hour ban from opr when you crash is fucking bullshit. WTF is wrong with the staff at AGS??????????? I swear you mfer wonder why you lose half if not more players after the start of every season. I work 12 hour days and the last thing I want to do is get home fire up opr and be banned for a hour cause my game crashes. I have a 3080 ti, i9 12900K, and 32 gigs of ram. I have ZERO issues with any game I play but crash on new world all the time!
