I was invited by the New World team over at Amazon Game Studios to jump into the game and take a look at the new expedition feature.

In this video, you will get your first look into Amrine Excavation. This is the first expedition found in the game, located in Windsward, underneath Amrine Temple. It has a minimum group size of three, with a recommended group size of 5 level 25+ players. In the video, I also give my impressions on this particular expedition along with the system as a whole.

  1. This looks amazing. I love the ancient look of the dig site with a bit of the supernatural thrown in. The lil Indiana Jones inside of me is so ready to get in there! As I’ve already pre-ordered this game, I’m counting down the days until launch! Thanks for the sneak peek Blud!

  3. The combat seems more fluid but not excesive and thats very nice. The ice guntlet looks amazing, and the dungeons feels fun. New World is doing the opposite of other games that delay the launch, that is, it is getting better and better, not worse. I want to play it so much.

  9. I only have negative things to say about New Worlds combat. Love the game, hate the combat. After playing Elyon for the past 5 days I'm concerned that the NW combat is setting it up for failure. Too many games (with amazing combat) are launching this year and it will only hurt New World. Black Desert Online and Elyon are picture perfect examples of how New World should have launched their combat systems. With Elyon, Crimson Desert and Ashes of Creation launching this year I fear the worst for New Worlds success. Sorry, but that's the truth. I personally feel that the dev team made a tragic mistake by going the Dark Souls combat route. It will cost them.
