In this New World Musket video, we take a look at the Powder Burn ability of the musket to see if the burning DOT effect will do more damage with Intelligence or Dexterity. Powder Burn is one of the best abilities on the musket and I wanted to see if I can increase the burn damage of this ability.

That's not exactly how the gems work. It converts damage to magic damage. So what you didn't notice is when you slotted the fire gem on your Dex build you did 158 thrust and 37 fire damage on your shot. When you switched to intelligence build with the gem slotted you did 135 thrust and 67 burn damage on your shot. Meaning Dex build did a total of 195 damage on shot and Int build did a total of 202 damage on your shot. So if you are doing int build with musket then slot an elemental gem.
Also, thanks for doing the testing! I wasn't sure on if I should continue doing an int musket build. Because you did controlled testing it helped me decided!

What happens if you build 300 dex and 200 int, max musket damage possible?

But Int let your burn go longer. So there is no cool down vs dex build

The frost damage from the ice gauntlet, does that also apply to a ice gem in the musket?
