New World has been plagued with AFK Runners, which have affected the long queue times. Amazon released a statement about how they intend to stop it.

How is this game so popular when it sucks? 3 weapon skills only..all you do is run around gathering so you can craft trash items and salvage them.
Can't even LFG on my server. Theres easily like 400 people total (all mining veins are usally up is what should be Hotspot)

I wonder if I'll get in trouble for going back to my computer to talk to an NPC when I need more than 20 minutes to like… make dinner or whatever. People definitely shouldn't be using scripts to avoid the timer while they sleep or work, but I don't think people wanting more than 20 minutes of personal time without having to sit in another 2 hour queue should be treated the same as people using macros to avoid the timer. I say if you are able to physically access the computer to reset your timer, that's fair.
I'm more interested in them solving the problem rather than the symptoms of that problem. The real solution was to have server caps at launch, which they didn't do. The game was designed around these smaller servers, so as much as I wish it were as simple as moving some sliders, that isn't the case.
people need to stop caring about playn with streamers and there would be alot less que time.

If you have mouse software you can create a macro that will hit spacebar every 10 minutes.. better than afk running and a ton harder to catch
peak hour queues are still bad theyre still atleast 1800 people.
Maybe they should fix their useless (Down-Revive mode) because each time you do actually PVP and get someone into the (revive mode) these players just press "E" to prevent you from get the last hit so you won't get a player kill nor get any exp.. Great work btw!! Let's keep this system into the game to prevent any player getting a kill!

You finish work at 5pm you log in you see a 3 hour que? do you say great theres probs 20 % of the server all afk running. like you should be kicked.
"serveris full" So just not allowed to play with friends then? I mean do you actualy think not allowing friends to play with each other is a good solution? Especially for a trillion dollar fucking company! Why are people just forgetting that these dudes own server farms and was just wrong with player estimates and shouldn't be white knighted, they fucked up and deserve every bit of panic they feel
I think the entire situation is entirely Amazons fault, gamers will and have always found the best solution to problems caused by lazy developers or just plain bad system by devs.

There are NO system in place for D/C or other game problems, so you crash you go back in the queue, unlike every OTHER mmo out there where oyu get a grace period to log back in again.
Is this the solution yes is it way to late very much so.
But i cant play the game else i come home 18:00 and if i would queue then i would have to wait 3-3.5 hours wich is about the time i go to bed under the week so i couldnt even play under week while working …
They need to keep sea servers.. Most sea players are using EU servers.

Banning players for not wanting to deal with queue times due to Amazon's measly populations per server is hilarious and messed up, wouldn't a forced kick be more reasonable?
It's the AFK runners fault? I call 100% BULL#$%^. Amazon is worth WELL OVER a trillion dollars, and has one of the largest cloud platforms in the world. They have PLENTY of resources to fix the queue problem. Stop blaming gamers, so sick of it. Do you work for Blizzard ? STOP BLAMING GAMERS !!!! This is 100% Amazons fault.
Que times is not the only problem. The fact thar ppl get the Lag Detected msg and then gets kicked from the server is a big pain in the ass.
This is why I setup a repeating twenty four hour chat macro instead that posts random generic responses into global, far less noticeable than those wall running plebs. Sometimes hilarious when people think you're holding a conversation with them.
Servercap raised to 2500? They said theyd look into raising it but didnt actually confirm it so far
I’ll take a ban before I sit in a 3 hour queue because I had to go to the bathroom or grab some food. Luckily the queues have been shrinking and there’s a limited time now where it’s actually pretty bad.
Yea, I haven't played NW yet, Im waiting for the servers to calm down. The run in place, that's an old one. I would use it to avoid those long Qs. Now that they know about it, AGS needs to fix the problem.
Punishing those who have something (urgent) to do and don't want to wait in a queue for 7ish hours just because they had to leave for an hour or so is not a solution at all. Yes i undestand there are folks who just logs in early in the morning to be able to play in the afternoon or at night those players are horrible but still undesrtandable why they're doing this. My server (Muspelheim) still have around 1.5-2k players in queue at least from 11 am to 8pm. My friend was in a queue for 5 hours today it's horrible. I think how they're handling the situation is not right at all just because they've messed it up they're planning on punishing the players who just wants to play the game, this is actually sad and dumb af.. Can't wait to see the steam reviews after this update i'm sure there'll be ppl who will be happy about it but i am sure the reviews might get even worse than mixed at this point. They could implement cross-realm just like how it is in WoW but naaah we'll punish those bastards who dares to be afk instead of coming up with a decent solution for this issue. I hope they'll come up with something else tho.
Treating the symptoms instead of the core issue is just a bad choice. People are afk running because of the queues. If say, there are 1300 people in queue, maybe 200-300 people are afk running, then there is still a queue of 1000 people, still going to take ages to get in the game.
Dont make us get back in a 4 hour queue just because we have to walk the dog or eat dineer etc.
I don't understand. Have you played the game Vulkan? Have you seen the amount of players on a full server? Increasing the population will only cause issues. Currently in cities you notice lag. Every corner you turn in the world there are players. How much do you expect to add, 1,000 more players? That's insane. The game was not designed for more than 2k and beta was just that. BETA! The penalty for AFK is Amazon trying to be a pully. They are banning for no reason. Hell, I even got banned on steam forums for calling someone out being a troll. Great game but the company behind it is terrible. They are killing free speech in the gaming industry.
So Amazon is going to put in a ban to punish players for their own design flaw. Add some horses or someshit and people won't afk run.

Personally I don’t think they should raise the server cap. Seems like that could lead to more potential issues although I think they’re handling the current ones well enough so far

A game buy shouldn't have que times. I bought the game to play it, not to sit in a que for 2 hours. If they had thier shit together this problem wouldn't be here. Trying to arrest the drug user not the dealer.
Amazon should not be banning players for trying to avoid a 4 hour queue time (especially in EU where I play) demand better of the game developers. Do not punish players for wanting to play the game.
Buy a £40 game. Can't log in after work since queues are 4 to 5 hours. ..
HUD is extremely buggy, the solution is a game restart, oh wait I can't otherwise I have to stay 4 to 5 hours in a bloody queue again.
The developer's answer is to announce a ban to players instead of fixing their product…
