  1. I get that grandad is supposed to be N' son, that's also what I thought, but that creates a chronological problem because of Rex and Shulk.
Matthew's grandad is even older than Shulk and Rex, which is totally impossible under normal circomstances.

We know the original Noah was a kid when the two worlds collided and Origin stopped everything. We see it at the very beginning of XC3 and even again at the end. The problem here is the cycle of rebirth seems to already be in play and Nikol and Glimmer are apparently in it and the worlds already merged at the time of the DLC and when Rex and Shulk are here. The time necessarely had to stop for Rex and Shulk because Matthew's grandad is even older than them. It's just impossible that 3 generations happened between the activation of Origin and the start of this DLC. Matthew's grandad should chronologically be younger than Rex and Shulk and Matthew shouldn't even exist. The only possibility is it's actually not Matthew's biological grandad but someone who adopted him and Matthew just calls him grandad. Matthew would actually be N's kid or grandkid. But the main thing is if this is grandad he can't be older than Rex and Shulk unless some time shenanigans happened for our 2 heroes that conserved them in stasis. So maybe we didn't see it but Rex and Shulk actually are in the cycle as well since a long time, the necessary time for N/Noah to have 3 generations after him and for Matthew to even exist.
